Another day, another deleted tweet... and another reason to speculate about Rihanna getting back together with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
The singer's Twitter account reportedly contained the briefly posted comment: “I admit, I provoked Chris to hit me. It was not entirely his fault. #ImSORRY.” The tweet was promptly deleted and, of course, somebody out there got a screenshot of it before it disappeared. That, or it's all a bit of overblown Internet fakery.
Easy as it is to take this as an additional sign of a coming apocalypse Chris and Rihanna reconciliation, I’m going to be optimistic and come down in favour of the belief that it's the result of a Twitter hack. Though the two stars have allegedly been in touch both on and off the Internet, they're not about to be crowned the next Bobby and Whitney. Yet. But it is strange that there has been no verification from Rihanna’s camp as to whether her account had been compromised.
RiRi is on Twitter often, updating her fans about her current tour and sending tweets out to friends and supporters. It seems safe to assume that she could easily tap out a quick “I’ve been hacked!” message to her followers and instantly put an end to all this speculation.
