That wont happen. The Tea Party might favor certain republican candidates but they will never create a 3 party system because all that would do is split the republican votes in half and allow democratic candidates to get a higher percentage of votes as a result.

What I'm really concerned about is giving the President all that power. This is something that has never been done in our history and it defeats the purpose of checks and balances. This is a very bad idea. Both sides need to be big boys and come to an agreement.

$2.4 trillion in cuts and $1.4 trillion in tax increases is reasonable. Why they haven't figured this out is beyond me.

I kinda agree with you that is giving Obama too much power, however. Are you getting it that the reason McConell is doing this is so he can put the responsibility of raising the debt ceiling on Obama so that reaps can use that as ammunition to sink him later ?

I personally think this is a very cowardly move by McConell. I think Boenher is acting like a coward too. If it wasn't for the tea party, the republican leadership would have folded by now !

I know it's dangerous playing politics with the debt ceiling, but I have had it with us kicking the can down the road and procrastinating on fixing our financial problems. Democrats have absolutely no problem spending our tax dollars with reckless abandon. And the republicans are far from perfect and have made their own mistakes and are not without blame, but they are leaps and bounds ahead of democrats when it comes to fiscal responsibility.

I am very very curious as to how this political drama will play out. I also think that your solution is a bit too simplistic as I would like to see more tax reforms. But I'm not against all taxes as a way to help solve this, but don't call them "revenue generation" cuz that is some *** democrats use cuz they don't wanna accept being blamed for raising taxes due to it's unpopularity on both ends of the spectrum.

There are no winners here. Best plan so far is by the "group of 6" or something like that.

2 trillion in cuts to entitlements and defense 1 trillion in tax reforms, and 500 billion in tax revenue.

I can live with that.

@ Tennis

I will give you that. Reaps are split right now between the old dogs who want business as usual with the democrats, and reaps who want real reforms. The republican leadership wants to cave and the tea partiers wont let them ! GOOD ! They need to stop being punks and stop caving in to these progressive lunatics !
