if the "federal" reserve didnt exist we would all own property and have jobs that earned at least double the pay

Kn0wledge1ne

It seems all the political posters on MTO have gone on vacation. This is the second post where no one has flammed yet lol. Where's Great1, Barn, & NJRoller??

LoveDaMusicHard

Wow, the Republicans were trying to *** over the poor and middle class by not raising the debt ceiling but if they let America default, the corporate rich will be the ones who feel it the most! "A default could have catastrophic effects on financial markets"...too bad the destruction of the Republican party comes at the expense of the country!

NJROLLER02

Would it really be so bad to just force this bloated pig of a federal government to prioritize its expenses for once? Liberals only know of two kinds of government programs: ones that are too big to cut and ones that are too small to cut. The ones that are too big are said to be so vital that they can't be cut, and the ones that are too small are said to not make a difference in the grand scheme of things. Therefore, nothing ever gets cut.

NJROLLER02

The federal government is so bloated that we could cut trillions and not lose any quality of service. They spend $25 billion a year maintaining vacant govt buildings. They could cut that cost, plus sell the unused properties for even more money. Healthcare fraud is $70 billion a year. The refusal of federal employees to fly coach costs taxpayers $146 million annually in flight upgrades. Washington spent $126 million in 2009 to enhance the Kennedy family legacy in Massachusetts. Federal govt owns over 60,000 vacant homes. The National Institutes of Health spends $1.3 million per month to rent a lab that it cannot use.

NJROLLER02

The list goes on and on and on of ways to cut spending. In addition to pure waste, they could also give less funding to programs we need and force them to deliver the same quality for less money. Corporations do more with less all the time, why cant the gov't? We dont have a revenue problem we have a spending problem, so why raise the limit yet again and let them continue to waste. This cant go on forever, its just crazy

Bel-fiore

The Federal Reserves sound just about right and nice comment by Prissy the other day about Eric Cantor and the gang.

@LoveDaMusicHard

Today, you sums it up quite nicely with "too bad the destruction of the Republican party comes at the expense of the country!". very, very well said.

@Great1StillHere

You got me kinda scared for a minute wondering if you left the political threads for good; so easy to miss but you are right, MTO and their lame *** sorry topics as of late sucks.

NJROLLER02

It was wrong when Bush raised it and its wrong now when Obama is doing it. Actually its even worse now because of how broke this country is.

NJROLLER02

In first 19 months, Obama added more to the national debt that every US President combined from George Washington to Reagan, if you add everything since and what hes proposed to send down the line its more than every president from Washington to the start of his first and only term. GDP is lower, spending is up. Hes an idiot

Kn0wledge1ne

@NJ

You're still spouting that old debunked talking point? If you add up all the 43 presidents spending and debt, it comes up to about $45 TRILLION!! When did Obama add more 45 trillion to the debt?? That statement is patently false.

NJROLLER02

The debt rose 607 billion a year under Bush...1.8 Trillion a year under Obama......he spends 1.2 TRILLION more a year than Bush so dont try to compare. Bush was really bad but Obama is grossly negligent. This off NPR website which is liberal and also adds how this doesnt include over $2 trillion he allocated for Obamacare. So yeah, he took office with 9.8 trillion decicit, currently 14.5 trillion and that doesnt include trillions for Obamacare, and the fact he still has 2years left of spending. So yea he has spent much more than all presidents from Washington to Reagan.

KittnCouture

this is a breath of fresh air compared to the coonery I see on so many other threads...

I think Obama is going to put the big 3 on the table and go against both his party and the majority of the American ppl. He's just a pawn. I would rather see the country default on our debt. It would in fact be the destruction of the Republican party, but it is unfortunate that it comes at the expense of the country as stated earlier.

Sad to see how spineless Obama is. Total disappointment. Despite my dislike of Sarah Palin, her statement comes to mind: "So how's that hopey changey thing working for ya?"

KittnCouture

A better question would be where are the jobs? We know d*mn well that the top 2% aren't the job creators, although they bring in over 20% of the country's earnings.

And did someone really say that Democrats best friend is fear tactics? Where the hell have you been? Clearly not on the planet earth.

Kn0wledge1ne

@NJ

You're failing to understand simple mathematics and facts. Look at the historical tables of federal outlays and receipts. Bush the first spent ~$5.3 trillion in his ONE term. Debt =/= spending. You have to adjust for inflation, deficit, budgets, and GDP.

If you add up all the spending from each president, it goes above $45 trillion dollars. Obama DID not spend more than $45 trillion dollars. That statement is a blatant lie. Let it go.

NJROLLER02

I worded it wrong. I meant to say he added more to the US Debt in his first 19 months than all US Presidents combined from Washington to Reagan. Not pure spending totaled up but the amount of debt he racked up. My mistake but doesnt change anything. He spends trillions more than he takes in and we take in plenty.

NJROLLER02

Yeah because spending trillions over budget is always a good idea lol. Your an idiot.

NJROLLER02

Obamas been president for over 2years. Bush was bad with economy but Obama is worse and you liberals still credit the bad ecomony on Bush. But I bet if the economy suddenly turned around, it would suddenly be Obamas economy. Dumb liberals. You cant multiply wealth by dividing it from other people and Obama cant legislate the poor into prosperity. Every American gets a free education, if they decide to be a dropout and do nothing with there life it *** be the taxpayers problem to bail them out.

katdaddy4

Well, looks like Obama is getting his @ss kicked ???

Would hate to be him right now. He's gonna cave to the republicans and say *** the democrats cuz he wants to be re-elected and he don't give a *** what the progressive crackpots think LMFAO !!!

NOW THAT'S GANGSTA ! I gotta hand it to ya Barak, I didn't see this one coming. ***, he just might deserve to be our next president pullin off slick *** like this ???

katdaddy4

We shall see who come out the loseer GUMPface lol !

This is great political theater. The democrats are *** in their draws right now and you know this !

Now, the reap leadership is scared too. Boehnor and McConell wanna cave too but Canter and the tea parties wont let them and I say good !

Kn0wledge1ne

@NJ

That's still incorrect.
