: Most celebs that have children with CHALLENGES, try and HIDE them from the public. Not actress/talk show host Holly Robinson Peete. She's bringing attention to the growing problem of autism.
And her EXTREMELY brave son CJ seems to like the spotlight.
I'm glad that he has apparently had a lot of therapy to help him with his autism; you truly can not distinguish him from any other boy his age. Oh, and I'm the only one that cringed when people laughed when he said, 'When I couldn't talk, I still remembered what people said about me behind my back..and I remembered it.." Was that supposed to be funny? I thought it spoke about the cruelty of children...
Holly has a beautiful family and MTO you should be ashamed of yourselves AGAIN for such an insensitive topic. What are they supposed to do? Lock him in the cellar chained to a bed??? I do get what you're saying b/c we've NEVER seen Tisha Campbell's autistic son but Holly has NEVER hidden her child and has always been his mommy advocate. She's a great mother so don't ever be so ignorant when featuring this beautiful family again!!!!
In regards to celebs bringing out their autistic children, I think something like that depends on the individual child. I remember people criticizing the Travolta family because they seemed to hide their autistic son, but John said he had such a severe form of autism that large crowds and noise frightened him.
All y'all negroes forgetting how Holly Robinson-Peete defended John Mayer's racist comments about the beauty and desireability of black women, laughing about his comments and talking about how she was glad that he singled her out as an exception. Eff Holly Robinson. There are plenty of women out there who are doing right by their family who are also NOT licking Massa's *** when he downs the race.
I am the mother of a 4 yr old with Autism. Reading and hearing from certain celebrities and their experiences with Autism helped me out when he was first diagnosed. My husband was given the book Rodney Peete wrote on the fathers perspective and feelings when they have a son diagnosed. Some days are hard but I would not trade my son for anything in this world. I am truly blessed that God chose me to be his mother. -------------------follow me on twitter @heymoho08
@OdieDOldie, nah, man. I remember when it went down. Holly got clowned like a m*f*er by shiploads of black woman horrified by her initial take on John Meyers' 'David Duke ***' et al comments. So Holly had to go on the defensive. I was there on her website's talkback. Finally, a lot of women accepted her revisions, but me? First impressions are usually the proper one. Eff her.
@ Uma-she didn't NEED to make any revisions. SO WHAT if John Mayer isn't attracted to Black women? Is there a law that says everyone MUST be attracted to Black women? I worry about Black men who don't seem to love their own, not White men who actually DO prefer their own women. That's just kinda natural...
Sometimes in society we get way, way too politically correct. I was more struck by all that uber liberal rhetoric he tried to pull about his 'hood pass', what it means to be Black and using the *** word.
