Wish I could see Lauryn Hill could make some more music. Even tho I don't know why she dropped so many kids vs albums I'm not going to judge her. That's her decision, she seems capable enough to do a good job in raising them. At least she's not like that Octomom chick who was trying to get shine by having 8 kids. I'm sure Lauryn is doing a better job with parenting than your average chick with kids out of wedlock by different men, but ***, I would have loved more music from her over the years too. At least, Erykah does go to the studio every now and then (in between puffs and pregnancies).
I'm not feeling being responsible for another life even if I was married, so being a single mom is definitely out of the question. Who even takes their boyfriend that seriously? I can sort of understand being young, naive, or not careful once, maybe even twice, but not multiple times. These older women, especially celebrities, that are getting pregnant by their boyfriends must be on some other stuff that I just can't relate to. My parents have been happily married for over thirty years. I flat out refuse to believe that I have to settle for raising a child with a man who hasn't committed to spending his life with me. I'd like to think my kid would deserve something more than that. And even marriage doesn't keep families together lots of times, but I least you can hold your head up, and tell your baby you tried to give him/her the best life possible.
Why are women so proud of having out of wedlock babies? I'm a proud married black woman with no kids (I've never been pregnant). It's mind boggling to see black women who are proud of having 6 kids by 5 different baby daddies. White women do this too, but I don't care about them. Black people need to pull themselves up out of the gutter. Black men wife her before putting your seed in her uterus. It's the right thing to do. Being on welfare and man hopping is no way to live. We can do better.
