When they passed the law that stiffened the penalty for crack users and dealers that didn't stop the people from using and dealing, it just increased the amount of people that went to prison, which only made some white people on the back-end rich...Maybe if you held community outreach programs that spoke to the people of the community and tried to get the people to settle their differences w/ their minds instead of guns then that would prevent more senseless *** and killings.. #Hard Work... Work your way from the ground-up not the other way around.. Cuz people don't listen to the police and they don't give a f.uck about laws... So you can say the law you helped get passed decreased *** in your area, but I bet *** are still happening and people are still getting killed at the end of the day..
And just to say this, I for one have never tried to get a law passed. But I've participated and supported countless feed and clothe the homeless campaigns, HIV Aids and Cancer awareness drives, mentored high-school students; I am the son of a teacher and community organizer that helped him run for State House at one point in time, enrolled in college, about to start-up my own business, and at the same time I'm still affilliated w/ the streets.. So who's to say what has had a bigger impact on a community in the long-run... I don't know if me speaking to students helped their lives or the HIV and Cancer drives helped anyone out, I just do it and hope for the best. I'm not out here boasting about it, trying to get recognition for it. But that's a real "G" to me.. Someone that is able to do positive things in light of being surrounded by negative.. You can't look at one side of somebody and judge him based on that... It's two sides to everybody.. ***.iggaz ain't f.uckin robots... Obviously, you did not read well enough.The law does much more than that. The party at the YMCA was promoted by a guy who had a history of giving functions that resulted in violence. Scharod and the 2 other kids who got *** were innocent partygoers-not intended targets. The law requires security,police notification and the promoter has to be registered.It also promotes a better relationship b/w the police and young black males- which reduces the chances if mistaken identity,police brutality, etc. It does not stop all drive-by's but the rate of youth homicides in that city dropped more than 50 PERCENT since it passed.I can post at least 50 incidents of black kids getting killed across the nation that would DEFINITELY have been prevented snce the law was passed. I didn't ask you to research the law..I was answering a question about what I have done for my community. I also don't need to researh anything about Tupac..as u can see, I am from the Bay. know people who know Tupac, have met and talked with Tupac and a family member is the lead vocalist on the majority of his Death Row releases so I know enough about the man to speak. Lesson on life and contradictions: This what I meant by the terminology. If you look throughout history, to almost anybody that has made their mark on the world or fought for something bigger then themselves, you can always find something "contradictory" that they did as opposed to the beliefs or message they put out. Examples: Malcolm X went from being a *** and a street corner hustler to an activist in the community. During which he promoted Black Pride, Equality, but also Violence. Martin Luther King's biggest rumors (we are dealing with rumors) about him was that he had issues with infidelity and that he missed a lot of time at home w/ his kids while spreading a "peace" and "equality" message that we still praise him for today. Very Contradictory by both X and King. Even Huey P. Newton (Black Panthers) fought against injustice in the community, anti-drug, anti-violence in the community, black pride, black knowledge etc but he *** to a bad drug addiction. Contradiction right??? Their many examples of people throughout history that had a message that they sometimes didn't follow through with themselves... If you're blessed you'll going to live a long life that'll last decades upon decades upon decades... you don't think you'll going to slip-up and have a contradiction at any point within those years???... We got pastors of churches that contradict themselves a lot... 2pac was only 25 years old when he died. 25 years old now. So that mean he was real young when he started out in the limelight.
