: By now you've heard that former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky was charged with sexually abusing eight young boys over more than a decade and former Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and former finance official Gary Schultz, were charged with failing to report an incident.
Penn State University appears to be involved in a SYSTEMATIC coverup of the incident, which has many wondering WHY they would do such a thing. Why would a university TURN ITS BACK on so many young boys who were being MOLESTED by that MONSTER.
Well MediaTakeOut.com spoke with a woman claiming to be a MOTHER of a boy allegedly molested by Sandusky, and her son was AFRICAN AMERICAN.
The mother, who asked for anonymity, told MediaTakeOut.com that her son and many other young boys claiming to be MOLESTED all looked similar. "They were Black about 10-12, and had a tall slim muscular build." The mother went on, "How could no one have noticed, he's around all these boys that look the same . . . This is disgraceful."
The mom claims that she has gone to the POLICE and will seek criminal and civil actions against EVERYONE involved. Including the school. Good for her, we hope they BANKRUPT Penn State.
By the way, for all you people thinking that MAYBE Sandusky didn't do it. Peep the timeline of events, courtesy of ESPN, and tell us whether you think there is THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE that he's innocent!!!
1969 Jerry Sandusky starts his coaching career at Penn State University as a defensive line coach.1977 Jerry Sandusky founds The Second Mile. It begins as a group foster home dedicated to helping troubled boys and grows to become a charity dedicated to helping children with absent or dysfunctional families.
January 1983 Associated Press voters select Penn State as college football's national champion for the 1982 season.
January 1987 Associated Press voters select Penn State as college football's national champion for the 1986 season.
1994 Boy known as Victim 7 in the report meets Sandusky through The Second Mile program at about the age of 10.
1994-95 Boy known as Victim 6 meets Sandusky at a Second Mile picnic at Spring Creek Park when he is 7 or 8 years old.
1995-96 Boy known as Victim 5, meets Sandusky through The Second Mile when he is 7 or 8, in second or third grade.
1996-97 Boy known as Victim 4, at the age of 12 or 13, meets Sandusky while he is in his second year participating in The Second Mile program.
1996-98 Victim 5 is taken to the locker rooms and showers at Penn State by Sandusky when he is 8 to 10 years old.
Jan. 1, 1998 Victim 4 is listed, along with Sandusky's wife, as a member of Sandusky's family party for the 1998 Outback Bowl.
1998 Victim 6 is taken into the locker rooms and showers when he is 11 years old. When Victim 6 is dropped off at home, his hair is wet from showering with Sandusky. His mother reports the incident to the university police, who investigate.
Detective Ronald Schreffler testifies that he and State College Police Department Detective Ralph Ralston, with the consent of the mother of Victim 6, eavesdrop on two conversations the mother of Victim 6 has with Sandusky. Sandusky says he has showered with other boys and Victim 6's mother tries to make Sandusky promise never to shower with a boy again but he will not. At the end of the second conversation, after Sandusky is told he cannot see Victim 6 anymore, Schreffler testifies Sandusky says, "I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead."
Jerry Lauro, an investigator with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, testifies he and Schreffler interviewed Sandusky, and that Sandusky admits showering naked with Victim 6, admits to hugging Victim 6 while in the shower and admits that it was wrong.
The case is closed after then-Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar decides there will be no criminal charge.
June 1999 Sandusky retires from Penn State but still holds emeritus status.
Dec. 28, 1999 Victim 4 is listed, along with Sandusky's wife, as a member of Sandusky's family party for the 1999 Alamo Bowl.
Summer 2000 Boy known as Victim 3 meets Sandusky through The Second Mile when he is between seventh and eighth grade.
Fall 2000 A janitor named James Calhoun observes Sandusky in the showers of the Lasch Football Building with a young boy, known as Victim 8, pinned up against the wall, performing oral sex on the boy. He tells other janitorial staff immediately. Fellow Office of Physical Plant employee Ronald Petrosky cleans the showers at Lasch and sees Sandusky and the boy, who he describes as being between the ages of 11 and 13.
Calhoun tells other physical plant employees what he saw, including Jay Witherite, his immediate supervisor. Witherite tells him to whom he should report the incident. Calhoun was a temporary employee and never makes a report. Victim 8's identity is unknown.
March 1, 2002 A Penn State graduate assistant enters the locker room at the Lasch Football Building. In the showers, he sees a naked boy, known as Victim 2, whose age he estimates to be 10 years old, being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky. The graduate assistant tells his father immediately.
March 2, 2002 In the morning, the graduate assistant calls coach Joe Paterno and goes to Paterno's home, where he reports what he has seen.
March 3, 2002 Paterno calls Tim Curley, Penn State athletic director to his home the next day and reports a version of what the grad assistant had said.
March 2002 Later in the month the graduate assistant is called to a meeting with Curley and senior vice president for finance and business Gary Schultz. The grad assistant reports what he has seen and Curley and Schultz say they will look into it.
March 27, 2002 (approximate) The graduate assistant hears from Curley. He is told that Sandusky's locker room keys are taken away and that the incident has been reported to The Second Mile. The graduate assistant is never questioned by university police and no other entity conducts an investigation until the graduate assistant testifies in grand jury in December 2010.
2005-2006 Boy known as Victim 1 says that he meets Sandusky through The Second Mile at age 11 or 12.
Spring 2007 During the 2007 track season, Sandusky begins spending time with Victim 1 weekly, having him stay overnight at his residence in College Township, Pa.
Spring 2008 Termination of contact with Victim 1 occurs when he is a freshman in a Clinton County high school. After the boy's mother calls the school to report sexual assault, Sandusky is barred from the school district attended by Victim 1 from that day forward and the matter is reported to authorities as mandated by law.
Early 2009 An investigation by the Pennsylvania attorney general begins when a Clinton County, Pa., teen boy tells authorities that Sandusky has inappropriately touched him several times over a four-year period.
September 2010 Sandusky retires from day-to-day involvement with The Second Mile, saying he wants to spend more time with family and handle personal matters.
March 2011 Harrisburg (Pa.) Patriot-News reports that grand jury is investigating Sandusky on allegations of indecent assault against a teenage boy. The Patriot-News reports that five people with knowledge of the case said the grand jury has been meeting for 18 months and has called witnesses, including Paterno and Curley. Penn State declines comment.
Nov. 5, 2011 Sandusky is arrested and released on $100,000 bail after being arraigned on 40 criminal counts
Nov. 7, 2011 Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly says Paterno is not a target of the investigation into how the school handled the accusations. But she refuses to say the same for university president Graham Spanier. Curley and Schultz, who have stepped down from their positions, surrender on charges that they failed to alert police to complaints against Sandusky.
Nov. 8, 2011 Possible ninth victim of Sandusky contacts state police as calls for ouster of Paterno and Spanier grow in state and beyond. Penn State abruptly cancels Paterno's regular weekly news conference.
Nov. 9, 2011 Paterno announces in the morning he'll retire at the end of the season, but the university's board of trustees rules later that Paterno and Spanier are out effective immediately. Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley is named interim coach and provost Rodney Erickson is named interim university president.

I guess it explains the "mostly low income, mostly disadvantage, mostly fatherless boys" that were giving a chance (but look at what cost) to play football... I never liked the idea of sleep away camps & overnite trips for underage Kids... I think if ppl have their kids go to these kind of excursions the parents should be right along with them... My best friend only allows her kids to sleep out if she tags along & can sleep in the same Cabin with her kids... You can't trust ppl with your kids period... Unfortunately, this is less about race and more about the sickness of pedophilia. Abuse is abuse and it's victims don't suffer more or less because of their race. It's all about opportunities. Unfortunately, in the Black community, those opportunities are more plentiful because, like in the Asian, Latino, and West Indian cultures, these topics are taboo and often not discussed openly.

It would appear that children in homes where the father is present are at a decreased risk of being abuse victims, however, if the father and/or mother are not educating that child, having open dialogue about abuse and its signs, or have an open communication channel with their children (i.e. it's okay to TELL, aka snitching when something happens to them), then there really is no difference whether a father is present or not. Oftentimes, children are most likely abused by the man in the household, so that's why your argument is so compelling. The fact of the matter is a pedophile is capable of having a wife, children, regular jobs, be a leader at his job or community and attend church. Whether or not he lives in a house with his own children is irrelevant. An abuser is an abuser. PERIOD. Get away from the notion that only white men are abusing black kids. First if you read the transcript you would have read that the majority of the boys involved were in a foster system, and came from neglected or dysfunctional homes. Only one of the youths that has stepped forward was living in a home with his mother, maybe there are some more however none in reading the report would reflect that these were African American children. And given the fact that the worms come out when it rains, everyone wants some of the fame or want to present themselves as being part of the proceedings. What Sandusky did was vile and incorrigible and any individuals associated should be punished at the highest level, but where were the parents when they were allowing their children to spend ***, weekends and holidays with this man???? Who in their right mind allows a child to spend the *** over a "mentors" house without questioning him? What parent allows a man to shower their child with expensive gifts, money and trips and doesn't look at it as being odd? This is all so sickening on so many levels. The janitor who witnessed one child being victimized via oral ***, was so shaken up people thought he was going to have a heart attack (read the grand jury report). He said he saw things in the Korean War that won't haunt him as badly as what he saw in that campus shower. Now I understand a bit more. Not only was it the image of a child being sexually abused, but on top of that, it was a little Black boy. That was probably quite a sight for someone of his age.
The color of the kids *** matter, but it does in that socio-economic conditions probably lead to these kids being in this program and easy prey for a predator like Sandusky. And there are a higher amount of boys that are Black, without father figures, and in need of mentoring programs to help them.

Apparently there is a DA that was working on this case that mysterious vanished off the face of the Earth... He was declared legally dead after three yrs or so... His computer was found floating in a body of water, of course with the hard drive damage (so any evidence he had was destroyed)... No one can't tell me Jerry Sandusky didn't have that DA murdered... They need the FBI to look into this case... It even gets sicker I also learned that as of last Monday PSU creamery (the university has it own ice cream shop with 100 item on the menu) had an ice cream named after the molester (it was taken off the menu)... Apparently it was 2 ice cream scoops turned upside down with a banana sprinkled with nuts (it is said to have been the only item on the menu that didn't require you to add nuts to your order, nuts came automatically with the order) The point is it was a general consensus on PSU campus of this pedophiles appetite for little boys to the point where it was joked about & they profited from this sick *** twisted ways.... Congressional Black caucus, other so called human rights leaders of today, children youth & family advocacy groups and outraged citizens of America we all have a voice and can get the doors of this school "CLOSED" forever if we ALL pull together and fight for what is right. STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KABC) -- Angry students stormed the streets around Pennsylvania State University after legendary head coach Joe Paterno was fired.
The announcement was a surprise and so was the reaction from students. In less than 24 hours Wednesday, the winningest coach in major college football announced his retirement at the end of the season, then was abruptly fired by the board of trustees.
Students threw rocks and bottles and turned over a news van in reaction to the news that the 84-year-old coach had been fired. Police in riot gear used pepper-spray to break up the crowd. Paterno met with angry students Wednesday *** and tried to calm the crowd.
"Alright we still got things to do, I'm out of it maybe now," said Paterno. "That phone call put me out of it. But we will go from there. Hey, good luck everybody and thanks for coming."
"I don't understand how they can do this to Penn State in general," said one student. "'JoePa's been here so long. He's retiring this season, let him play his last game, it's that simple. Everyone here is for that."
Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will serve as interim coach. He is Penn State's first coach other than Paterno in almost half a century.
"We're obviously in a very unprecedented situation," Bradley said. "I have to find a way to restore the confidence. It's with very mixed emotions and heavy hearts that we go through this."
Sandusky is accused of sexually assaulting eight boys over a 15-year period. One of those alleged assaults occurred on the Penn State campus.
Assistant coach Mike McQueary, who was a graduate assistant at the time, witnessed one of the sexual assaults in 2002. He reported the incident to Paterno, who then went to the school's athletic director instead of going to police.
"This is a tragedy," Paterno said. "It is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more."
On Thursday, Bradley announced that McQueary would be coaching Saturday's home finale against Nebraska.
The scandal has claimed Penn State's storied coach, its president, its athletic director and a vice president. While Paterno is not facing any criminal charges, the school's athletic director and a school vice president are charged with not reporting a crime.

Talk about having priorities mixed up.....maybe when they have children of their own they will understand what the heck is going on.(they should anyway) An adult caught having #### with a 10 year old IN ANY ***, should be reported to the local authorities...since a crime is being committed. I read the grand jury indictment and I'm furious at this ***! He was a monster left alone with these boys who were probably craving love and attention - then he anally penetrates them - loud enough for the coach to hear the sounds of ***...He will pay for this in jail, we'll probably hear of his murder soon.
