: Heavy D was finally laid to rest yesterday in a star studded private funeral in his mone town of Mount Vernon, NY. Tons of celebs, including Will Smith, Jay Z, Diddy, and Usher were in attendance. And even President Obama, a fan of Heavy D, sent a letter which was read during the eulogy.
As sad as this is . . . it's GREAT to see everyone come out and support. Hopefully, those same people will help to provide for Heavy's daughter Xea. The family has been taking up a collection, to help secure her future.
I see my man Pete Roc was one of the Paul Bearers can't tell if C.L Smooth was in the house,but I'm sure he was; Heavy D. was not broke!! I wouldn't be surprised if someone from MTO staff set up that "FAKE" account for donations. Queen Latifah was very good friends with Heavy D. not to mention others and she has become extremely successful in her own right and Not the type to leave her friends talented or otherwise behind if they are struggling and in need of work. Check out the mans W.I.***.I.P.E.D.I.A. for his many accomplishments listed and I noticed some behind the scenes stuff that I know he's done not listed. Which his family will cash in on rightfully so, besides a million dollar plus life insurance policy. So stop with the *** MTO! Heavy was easy to get along with,loved, intelligent,funny,caring,compassionate and most Definitely PAID!
its so crazy because at the awards when he performed he looked so healthy and was getting it in R.I.P to a tru pioneer of hip hop...i have to wonder how many of these celebs were there for him in life...i doubt hes broke his daughter will be taken care of most responsible parents set up things once they have kids never know what could happen

How can his daughter be broke with over 5 billion dollars in one church. I know *** well that they will look out for her. If they don't I hope they all go to hell. Heavy should've had his finances together. But since he didn't now is the time for these greedy so-called rappers to come out they pocket for his daughter. This hit me really hard. He's a legend and was a great human being by many accounts. I think most loved him, but it's sad that he never really got the full respect or admiration that he deserved imo. He didn't get a lot of hate, but should have been mentioned more for his contributions. I was so excited to see him on the BET Hip-Hop Awards in October and for him to get one last chance to shine on stage and in front of a national audience. Watching his performance brought back so many great memories of my childhood and it was just great to see him do what he loved. Heavy will definitely be missed.
