: The street dudes in Jamaica are SERIOUS . . . and that goes ESPECIALLY for Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.
You see, Vybz was arrested and charged with MURDERING two people, and was being held in a Jamaican MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON - that was .. . until last night.
MTV News confirmed that last night - he ESCAPED from prison.
The Dancehall artist started a riot at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre and has fled in Jamaica's biggest prison escape in history. Vybz - real name Adidja Palmer - managed to take control of the prison after holding an officer at gunpoint.
As a result, a prison officer died of a heart attack and 12 others were injured - two were shot with guns that had been smuggled into the prison. Shortly after 1am, Vybz and other jailmates stole clothes and car keys from prison guards and created stories to help get past other officers.
At approximately 1:45am, the convicts made their way to a pickup truck outside the prison which helped them to escape.
EDITOR'S UPDATE: Jamaican Authorities are REFUSING to confirm or deny whether Vybz is in custody. Assistant Commissioner of Police Les Green told the Jamaica Observer early this morning that he had no knowledge of the reported jail break.

We spoke to a captain at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Jamaica where Vybz Kartel is currently being held, and he told [SPAM] that the rumors of Kartel's escape are completely false.

Internet reports flew around this morning that reggae dancehall star Vybz Kartel pulled off one of the biggest prison breaks in Jamaica’s history!
As the story goes, according to Hype Life Magazine: Kartel, who has been charged with murder, marijuana possession and gun charges, escaped from the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Spanish Town, Jamaica along with seven other inmates.
The Jamaica Observer quickly threw cold water on the story saying that the reggae artist had not escaped.
The police have also dispelled rumours that a guard died from a heart attack and 12 others were injured. As you read above, we got to the bottom of the situation and cleared the air. Vybz is still in custody.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Les Green told the Observer early this morning that he had no knowledge of the reported jail break.
"I know nothing about that. If that had taken place I would would certainly have known," Green said.
Police at Denham Town Police station, the closest police station to the remand centre were also unaware of the reports, as was the Constabulary Communication Network who also claimed ignorance of any jail break.
"It may be an attempt by his cronies to keep him in the news but they don't need to spread rumours to do that because he will be in the news for quite some time," one cop told the Observer.

Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer, is facing two murder charges, conspiracy to murder, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana charges.
He was arrested on October 1st and has repeatedly been denied bail when he appeared in court.

Jamaica star or Jamaica observer. Google the real story. This story is 1000% false. Kartel did not nor did he ever attempt to escape from prison. He would have to had a army to ready to fight for him against police. Anyone that knows anything about Jamaica would know that star and observer are the top and correct news reports in Jamaica.
