So sad what society has come to. All this negativity and ignorance. The woman has a child by this guy and obviously loves him, why does she have to be dumb and weak for trying to make it work? Stop trying to be men by acting like you can be just as cold and dont give a *** as them like thats something to strive for. Until we as women can own our emotions and our natural and perfectly normal tendency to be soft we will always be viewed as weak and unworthy simply because we echo the same sentiments that have been used for centuries to make us out to be beneath men.
Our nurturing and easily forgiving natures are something that were given to us because we are the givers and caretakers of life in its most vulnerable state. The fact that this tendency cannot be automatically turned off like a light switch when its not a baby or a child that we are dealing with is natural however unfortunate as well, but it is what it is and all we can do is do our best.
Softness is a natural part of being a woman, and every woman has to grow and learn through experience and trial and error just like every man does. A lot of the women on here calling Emily weak and dumb are committing a common crime by reacting with hostility and disdain to something which you see in yourselves and dislike partially because society tells you its wrong and stupid to be soft and to have emotions and drama and prtially because you are just insecure.
At least Emily had the guts and the realness to bare her soul and not try and conceal these things in an effort to put on a meaningless front of being a so called "strong" woman.
