: According to the NY POST, Jay Z's newly opened restaurant 40-40, which JUST OPENED on Thursday has been SHUT DOWN by the health department:
Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club was shut down for a slew of health-code violations just a day after its celebrity-drenched $10 million relaunch — and now it faces a dreaded “C” grade, The Post has learned.This sh*t is KRAY!!An inspector found perishable food at dangerously warm temperatures inside the walk-in refrigerator and discovered “hot” food left out on the counter on Thursday, Health Department sources said.
A worker was also seen mixing salsa with his bare hands.
The refrigerator was at a rancid 60 degrees instead of 41 — jeopardizing the safety of 50 pounds of raw chicken wings, five pounds of raw shrimp and 100 turkey burgers, the sources said.
Five pounds of cooked mashed potatoes, meanwhile, were left out at a temperature of 89 degrees, while 10 pounds of cooked rice and 50 turkey burgers were kept at 67 degrees.
All the hot foods should be at least 140 degrees, the sources said.
The club’s restaurant was immediately closed, and new patrons were barred from entering. Those already inside were allowed to remain.
It's the "In" thing to become successful and then open your own restaurant, it seems everybody who's anybody wants their own restaurant like we don't already have enough of them! I think it's a terrible idea to own a restaurant and you haven't even so much as taken a Sanitation class so you can at least know what SHOULD be going on in the kitchen to avoid these fiasco's. I wouldn't want a business,but then be depending on everybody else to know the in & outs to keep it running and that's why they continue to fail.
Strange how all other reports state while the club was indeed *** down, the club staff were aware of the fridge problem and had no intention of serving food from same and how come, also strange how MTO conveniently forgets to mention same fridge was fixed by noon the next day and the club was permitted to re-open. As to the salsa titbit? strange_____NOT!! how MTO were the only ones with that bit of lie oops I meant info. :D
I don't know jayz personally so I will not hate, we all know jay does not run the restaurant im quite sure he has hired people to maintain it , cooks, bartenders the whole nine, he probably only does appearances occasionally so how is it his fault, its his team, anything to hate on this man , was never a fan but i can't knock he is definitely rich and doing better then me , people act like they personally know this man to judge him its quite pathetic if u ask me
it does sound like a set up though. they went over there the NEXT DAY after opening! they were TRYING to bring him down. but the workers and owner should know better. you have to take a class in owning a restaurant and how to keep the food. they should ALWAYS be prepared for the health department, and they *** be putting people at risk that way. but it does sound like someones trying to bring him down cuz Im sure Jay Z's aint the only restauraunt with these violations so why they going after him?
