Well according to a SCIENTIFIC STUDY, if you squeeze your LEFT thump (not your right one), your gag reflex goes away.
The reason this may work for some people isn't entirely understood, and it's not even clear that it does work in everyone. But in a study from 2008, it showed the effect in dental patients by using a pressure point in the palm.
