African American male masculinity, has become synonymous with violence and aggression. If your a nice person, you will automatically be labeled as wanting to be White, and or ***. If your intelligent, you will be called a nerd and put down? Where did Black people get the idea that being intelligent or well spoken means your *** or wanting to be White? This is the reason most African American men are in prison. There is a lack of an interest in seeking greater knowledge(because that would make them soft), which prohibits them from receiving an okay education and job, so they end up leading a life of petty crime. Like black people are ignorant and only can speak Ebonics in order to be accepted. The well spoken educated black person is less "Black" somehow for being properly educated and not following the stereotype. I know many black people who have this frame of mind but certainly not all...More than half of the generation is posing to fit into what society tells them they should be... The Thug stereotype is the saddest and the women who go after the type usually end up being single mothers, due to loosing their men to prison or death..only to raise another generation of fatherless lost children.
