: Yesterday in Atlanta, a man was STRUCK AND KILLED by a speeding MARTA TRAIN. The accident caused the ENTIRE SYSTEM TO SHUT DOWN during evening rush hour.
Well, we're hearing that there were some SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS at the Lindbergh station in Buckhead, where the man was killed, and that MARTA OFFICIALS are trying to SUPPRESS THOSE CONCERNS.
Well, it's not fair to the people of Atlanta that the MARTA may have safety issues that are not being fixed. So we've decided to show you a PHOTO of the DECEASED MAN. Hopefully it will generate enough attention to PRESSURE THOSE OFFICIALS into making the necessary safety changes to ensure that all MARTA passengers could avoid having a similar accident.

Dude I'm on MARTA every single day... I was just at Lindbergh station yesterday, this is crazy.... MARTA is already a piece of sh*t transit system, now they killing folks... Just yesterday a 110 MARTA bus got into a wreck on Peachtree right in front of Justins (Diddy Restaurant)
I'm bout to be on the train in about 1 hour... Pray for me.
The city of Atlanta needs to take over MARTA... It is truly a failed system, and I hate to say it... But Black folks run MARTA... 99.99% of MARTA employees are black, including the people in Top positions. MARTA is always late (Bus or Train)... They always break down.... The whole 7 o'clock thing at Lindberg station with the South Bound trains stopping at Lindbergh and everyone get off is ***.... Infact, that man might have not died if MARTA wouldn't make people get off the train and pack people like sardines on the Lindbergh platform. The trains and buses are filthy, cause they lack employees.... But yet they charge forks $2.50 a trip?? Where is all that money going? 100,000 people a day use MARTA and you telling me yall cant buy some *** windex,bleach, and air freshener on them stinky *** buses?? Maaan, don't get me started on MARTA... I'm bout to catch this bus at 12:48 (It wont show up until 1:00 probably), thank God I'm buying a car next week....I MARTA is not SMARTA..... R.I.P to this man.
This is NOT appropriate, as this person is somebody's family member! Second, how was he hit like that? Was he down on the tracks walking? Did he slip down there, or was he hanging too closely? I can't see how he was hit like that and wedged between the wall and the train without somehow being too close. Nonetheless, IF MARTA is at fault, I hope the family racks up on punitive damages in the courts to teach them a good lesson! RIP dude.

Police reports are public files maybe some one at mto should get it. By boyfriend is a Marta police and was the second ofc to arrive. This young man had been arguing with his boyfriend asked when the next train comes. He was told a few mins an ten he proceeded to get on the phone with his boo and jump down off the platform. He was told to get off the tracks and while still on the phone he tried to jump back up an got half way up when he was struck by the train. Sad but true they had his boyfriend come out an identify the body before he was take. By the em's office.

smh MTO think they know every *** thing. His death had nothing to do with safety considerations as to why he was down there. He dropped his *** phone and jumped down there to get it, and didn't get up fast enough to avoid being hit by the train. SMH *** the hell up MTO. I live in Atlanta and I know FIRST HAND that safety concerns at LINDBERGH was not the case. Smh I hate MTO I really do....
@ Bobby_Brown...MARTA has more money than people think they do. Where does it go? To attorneys who spend their time denying MARTA has never had any wrongdoing while professing that they are not responsible for anything. A MARTA bus can be drag racing and run 50 people over on camera - and they will still say that there was no wrong doing on the part of the driver. They'll use the camera evidence to blame the 50 people who 'made no precautionary actions to move' before they admit to anything. Hell, I don't ride MARTA (never did and never will... it's not even available where I live, thank gawd) but they are pretty notorious for downplaying any fault......................however, why in hell was the guy so close to the platform. Who doesn't know not to be near or on the tracks when active trains are on them? I mean, really who doesn't know that?

Let's pick sense out of nonsense. Clearly this person was NOT accidentially run over by now train. Look at the position of his body. Why is it FACING the direction of the platform. How can u be runn over by a train if your standing on the *** platform? Obiviously by his body position he was on the tracks an tried to make it back on the platform an then was hit. Stop making it seem like this man was hit on purpose an the train company is to blame. They may need safety percautions but as a sensible human you should know to say away from the edge or be on the tracks!
UUUUH I RESIDE IN ATL AND ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T RODE IN A YEAR OR TWO...HE HAD TO HAVE BEEN DOING SOMETHING..HE'S ACTUALLY UNDER THE DARN TRAIN...WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS EVEN GOES THAT CLOSE TO THE TRACKS. THERE IS MORE THAN 12 FEET OF PLATFORM TO THE EDGE. DID HE TRY CROSSING FROM NORTH BOUND TO SOUTH BOUND AND THEN GOT HIT...
I think as someone else stated, that he dropped his phone and thought that he could quickly get it and get back on the platform. I saw him on the Atlanta news. He was athletic. But, not quick enough to carry out this ill-conceived plan. His roommate said on the news that this young man had just moved to Atlanta from NY. He was seeking to be an actor. He was going to move to LA to pursue his acting career. May his soul rest in peace.
Also, let his death be a lesson to anyone who would value anything on the tracks over your own life.
