I have seen a lot of black women show out on their boyfriends/husbands without any shame. I get it. A woman does need to know her role as the woman in the relationship. But I also agree with one thing SweetDelilah said. Men have to also know their role as well. If a woman sees a man leading, she too will follow if she is a smart one. I was brought up under a woman who knew her role in the marriage and she did it well. My father has always respected her for letting him be "the man" in the relationship. Most of those white girls said they will not date a man who makes less than 100,000 a year. I can go on and on but she was highly misinformed.
@illcee. I completely agree with you. The pendulum swings both ways. I wish there was a reality TV show strictly dedicated to the black men who hold down their families. The last one I recall seeing is about actor Terry Cruise. That was a man who had a lovely black wife and respected her and she respected him as well. Even Sinbad's reality show was uplifting. It showed two black parents sticking it out. He talked about the things his wife did that he didn't like but he never disrespected her in anyway. The black men like that are long gone.
I do not agree with black women who date thugs. They are very unappealing and I believe can not contribute much. The media has always glamorized and glorified the bad guy. They make them so appealing even on shows from the early 50's It was the guy in the leather jacket, on a motorcycle with the slick back hair smoking a cigarette that got white women off. Good black men never get the credit they deserve. The only one I see are the little boys like The Proverbial Hater who don't have a pot to *** in yet trying to tell a woman how to fall back in her roll. Really?

The thing is, black women are not hating on white women, asian or hispanic women. We are far too busy working, taking care of our families and obtaining as much education as possible, we don't have time for petty things. Sure some white women have had much easier lives than black women, it's not their fault nor ours, some white men and black men are raised to value family above all else, some were not. If some black men choose white women so be it, black women will never give up on black men, it's what we do, it's how we were brought up. My black parents have been married for over 40 yrs and no marriage is perfect and I've never heard my father talk about any black woman the way I see black men are dogging us on this thread and HE stepped to the plate to help her take care of 2 kids she had from a previous marriage where her first black husband chose to jump ship. I love my black man and he's not perfect and neither am I, we have disagreements and it's ok cuz this is what happens when you can think for yourself.
Black women are resilient because we have to be, for most of us it's not a choice it's a way of life. Black women do know their role, we never left it, we eat it, we sleep and drink it. Some black men have stepped away from what they should be doing(taking care of the black family) and this is because they are being raised by black women who don't know how to raise a man, how could me know, we are not men!! WE NEED THE BLACK MAN TO COME BACK TO THE ROLE GOD ORIGINALLY MADE THEM FOR!
