70+% of all Black children are now born out of wedlock. Congratulations to him, because I"m not trying to rain on anyone's parade (if this story is even true, knowing MTO it's probably NOT). However, in our community it seems like being an unwed mother has become the norm rather than the exception. You can point to as many celebrities as you want to show that this is "okay" or that "White people do it too", but when it comes down to regular people living regular lives, that translates to A LOT of broken homes and children growing up without a consistent father's presence.
Seriously, I'm tired of seeing all the Black athletes on draft day sitting there with their Mom, plus their 2 & 3 y/o toddlers, while the Whit athletes are surrounded by both parents and their fiancee. Why do we choose the road of least commitment, family destruction and increased chances of financial ruin? I don't get it.
