: MediaTakeOut.com has some VERY SAD NEWS to report, last night rapper Lil Phat - a popular artist off of Trill Entertainment - who was featured on a number of songs with rapper WEBBIE, was shot an killed outside of Atlanta.
Melvin Vernell III, better known as LIL PHAT, was sitting in a parking garage when he was approached by a shooter. The murderer shot him at least 20 times. Lil Phat died of his injuries.
Here is how the local news, The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting it:
The victim was taken to nearby Northside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Witnesses indicated to investigators that they saw at least one suspect running from the parking deck toward Johnson Ferry Road. Police said that as Thursday night they knew of no connection between the shooting and the hospital or its Women’s Center.
MTO where did you get 20 times? In all the news I dont recall anyone reporting the number of times but that he was *** multiple times. That area is pretty safe, its an area where more affluent people reside, and the reports did not say anything about robbery, which would leave you to think he probably knew the person/s or was connected to the perpetrators some type of way, anyway RIP.
SMH @ the ignorance some people have the nerve to post. I never really listened to his music but my little brother did. I recently just viewed some of his videos and he didnt seem like a "gang banger" or "hoodlum" plus he was only 19years old. This is so sad and I really hope people stop the violence.
