I'm from SUMTER and still live here, it's not spelled w/ a "p". A matter of fact Club Rose is right behind the Mall lol, and I know people on that list. It's more like country ghetto here. Wikipedia and all that other ish will tell you it's mostly white people in sumter, BUT THAT IS A *** LIE. That looks like Cherryville or Wedgefield on that picture. As long as it ain't Pinewood or 15 South, I don't care who on that picture.
Some of the people on the list are probably in jail for something small like contempt of court or the worst Robbery/Burglary. Alot of niccas around here look alike, so the police will put anybody in jail, and not have one piece of evidence at all.
I can't lie though, Sumter is ratchet as hell, but I wouldn't trade it for another.
@ King Beef ATL, there is a lot of mistaken ID in Sumter, but let say, you stole an item that is worth $500, The court will charge you for RSG over $10,000, knowing *** well you should gotten RSG under or $2,000. So now you got to spend over a year or years in jail, when it should have been only 30 days jail. The system isn't fair, and it's not just unfair to the black people in the system. It just happens to us more often than whites.
I've never been in jail, but I know someone really close to me that is right now. Did he do it no, BUT he has to plea guilty just to do a little bit of time and come home. It's either that or possibly never going home.

@quan893, This is true, I know where you live, and I use to go to USC-Sumter. Two Notch Rd isn't bad to me either, but some people are afraid of Two Notch. Sumter isn't this bad, it's worst than back in the 90's and early 2000's, but I don't want people just to think we all kinds of crazy here. It's not much to do here, and majority of us are related, or our families went to school together. Sumter isn't a small place, but if you know people in Sumter, it's fine. Majority of us don't talk to people we don't know. Plus, North Charleston is a lot worst than Sumter (my father's mother's side are geechee/Gullah).
@ A080110 I've never actually been to Sumter and I have lived in SC all my life. Some people find that crazy. My friend lives in Sumter and he says its fine but says Greenville was better. A lot of people consider Orangeburg to be one of the worst places in SC. They are probably right because if you lived here you would go crazy! The crime rate has risen and people I have known from just a year ago are dead or in jail. It's not really that bad of a place. It just has a really bad reputation because ignorance is popular here.

You are misleading people by suggesting that (only) black people are God's chosen people. As I have mentioned before, the Israelites are descendants of Shem not Ham. This is not to say that some of the Isarelites were not dark because the bible mentions that Abraham moved his people in among Ham's people who were living in Babylon, which was the ruling place of Nimrod who, although was black, was detested by God.
Now here is where some serious "food for thought" gets onto the plate: If only Blacks were God's chosen people, then why did He not support the Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, and Ninevites? When the Israelites traveled throughout the wilderness, they were attacked by a lot of tribes of people who were black. but were destroyed or defeated by God.
Another point I care to share to prove that God was not stuck on color is the fact that the Eunuch, a black Ethiopian, did not understand what he was reading from the bible so he pleaded with an Israelite to interpret and explained to him a passage from the bible, which upon his understanding of the passage, the Ethiopian got baptized to accept and to adopt the Israelites' faith.
A last point I care to share with you is this: God disowned the Israelites and opened his covenant to Gentiles, which included all sorts of nations of people, so this alone proves that God is not only working through Blacks, but all people who have the desire to accept Him and live by His laws, which is sad for you, because the Israelites mixed with all sorts of people-- including the Edomites, Greeks, and Romans.
All in all, It is my strong belief that God's chosen people are those individuals who accept Him, believe in Him, and live by Him (His laws).

I do not turn my nose down on anyone, for we all are with flaws--some flaws are greater than others. Yet, I do not support crime and agree that some form of punishment is deserved. Having said what I said, I must admit that I lean towards King Beef Atl, but more so towards Hey Kitty Kitty. I lean towards these two bloggers because some people, especially blacks are dealt with more unjustly and harshly than other races of people, although my Hispanic cousins are on the "come up." This is sad. I was born and raised in SUMTER (Smh MTO), and this is by far the most, embarassing, ghetto, ratchet *** *** I have ever seen about my hometown. I am all about raising money for a GOOD, worthy cause, but to raise money to "Free my Hood"?? Cmon, son.. I know the concept of the party sounds ridiculous and I agree to some extent. I know 3 people on this list rather well and one of them is gonna be in there for 35 years. I know the saying do the crime do the time and "yes" they are doing there time but they are someones brother, father, son etc. And at the end of the day they are still people.
