I have stated this before and I will state it again for all women: Stop lifting heavy weights unless it is your job as a professional body builder. Yes, lifting weights will tone the body and burn body fat, but if you do not keep up with the routine (even as you age), you will look extremely bloated or fat, for one's muscles and body naturally loses its tone and elasticity as he or she ages. Also, due to the fact that one's metabolism slows down each year, he or she has to work twice as hard to tone muscles and lose body fat, so if one does not anticipate or expect to grind working out as he or she ages, then he or she should lift lightly and perform lots of reps or perform cardio/core/pilates exercises. In my prime, my body fat percentage was 12% and I weighed 140; now as a former athlete (rather I want to or not), I must work extremely hard to fend off the bloated look. If you do not believe what I am telling you, then look at Coco and other former body builders' bodies (including males)--tone down your weight training workouts.
