I would say obama is up atleast 5 points nationally. 13 points is even better.

juicyj3001

Is this supposed to be "good" news MTO? It isn't as 13 points means nothing, even nationally, may when him an election if it were today, but we know the POP VOTE doesn't win elections, also this number just only says, people are voting the "lesser" of two evils. Not calling Obama evil, I voted for him the first time around, but I am a little disappointed in what his administration has NOT been able to accomplish, even with the grid locks, he has the veto pen and executive authority. Still, I would NOT cast a vote for a ReTHUGlican.

Secret Voice

Not much of a believer in polls because they are usually not worded correctly however I heard about a poll of those polled recently and Obama was leading Romney 47% to 44 % and the poll stated that Obama was in trouble with the Independents and I do believe that is indeed truth but I do wonder why you didn't quote that poll?

Secret Voice

Voters should vote based on the issues.If you don't believe in *** advocacy or giving a pass to illegals,I say don't vote for Obama because I know I won't be .Either vote independently as I plan to do or vote for Romney if you so choose although I don't see much difference between the two.I suggest that voters should never let anyone tell you that you *** vote for someone based on disagreement over one issue because each issue has different meaning to the next person especially when it's clear that the person telling you that have an obvious bias for the one they plead with you to give a chance despite your disagreement with them..JMO

Until the debates start I don't think anyone can say who's ahead, and after Romney's performance in the Republican debates, his chances look between slim and none.

prissy3

Forget who is about 13 points ahead, the Supreme Court's ruling on Arizona immigration law just came down and it was a blow to Obama and the Dems but poor Romney, cat continue to have a strong azz hold of his tongue as always. Have no clue where to go about this issue other than his disappointment that more latitude, not less, should be given to the states, lol. I will wait for MTO's account into this ruling tomorrow.

prissy3

Hey Great1, almost did not realize its you... guess you're right to an extent but unfortunately all those illegal cannot vote for Obama, so he unfortunately still has a battle on his hands.

SuperFlyGT

Can anyone outline the difference between Obama and Romney for me; with respect to foreign policy, economic policy, civil liberties, and monetary policy? I really strain to see a difference between big government Romney and big government Obama.

duhreelkeypurr: "The American public has yet to be introduced to Mitt Romney. " Well, he's been a governor and ran for President last time around.

TrollSmasher: "So your disgruntled argument of where Obama is like Bush is on certain foreign policy matters is" I would take it a step further and say Obama's foreign policy is identical, if not worse. He campaigned on bringing the troops home, but he tripled the deployment before shrinking it down to double of what was there when he go in. We're still in Iraq. We invaded Libya for some reason to get rid of Gaddafi (but apparently the Saudi Royal family is A-ok?). Drone strikes have increased exponentially. Oh yea, and we know have a fleet of drones flying over America for some reason. Why?

gregnlbc

@Stillpompous

Romney's a horrible debater and during the Republican Primaries he was beat by everyone except Perry. Not to mention that much of what Obama is for and some of his policies, Romney had the same when he was Governor. The fact that he flip-flopped on everything is why Republicans were leery of voting for him. Yeah, Obama has his problems but Americans hate flip-floppers and liars more than anything, and Romney is both. During the debates it will turn into Romney's similarities to Obama and record as governor.

gregnlbc

@Great1

You're right, Romney's only chance is to make Rubio his running mate. Other than that, I don't think Romney has a chance. People keep saying that Romney will destroy Obama on the economy, but the question is... why hasn't he done that yet if it's such a problem for Obama???

gregnlbc

@Prissy

I agree with you about the illegal immigration issue favored Arizona. They might have struck down 3 other provisions, but they basically legalized racial profiling. This was the biggest issue because they can basically stop anyone. The person don't even need to have done anything... "Just fit the description." I think this was a major win for Arizona.

Secret Voice

@ SuperFlyGT...I love the way you think because like you I see no difference between Romney or Obama.The thing about Obama is that he changes with the wind as long as it helps his politics.

Secret Voice

The thing that get me about Obama though I'm not surprised is how concerned he is for illegals in Arizona being stop if they are suspected of a crime and yet he's silent on the 87% of Stop and Frisk victims whom are Black.I really feel that Blacks that support Obama are in denial as to who this guy Obama is and I also feel these type of Blacks really don't care about Blacks.Everytime Blacks demand Obama address Blacks as he address illegals/*** and other groups his Black supporters seem to take on "The Stockholm Syndrome" and resist with all of their might and in my view those are obstacles to the progression of Black people.....

SuperFlyGT

duhreelkeypurr: I agree that the American public isn't as familiar with Romney as they are with Obama on the surface. However, the entire American public doesn't vote. We also have a incredibly low voter turnouts; I'd imagine many people that car enough to vote are acquainted with Romney.

You *** dismiss these big issues like foreign policy and national healthcare. These are very, very big issues and will affect our debt and security in a huge way. The fact that Romeny has flip-flopped on virtually issue should be a huge red flag. Not to mention that this guy as a college student demonstrated in favor of the draft during Vietnam then spent his time in France. He has no problem unilaterally attacking Iran.

Your biggest arguments for Romney are Bain Capital and the Olympics? It is not the President's job to create jobs and fix the economy. The Keynesian economics is an utterly failed approach. Both candidates are pathetic. They both support foreign wars, the war on drugs, the NDAA, ACTA, the Patriot Act, the Fed. I mean, c'mon!

And yes, I'm a Ron Paul supporter. Although I may vote for Gary Johnson this election if Paul doesn't get the nomination or if his delegates can't get enough on the party platform.

TrollSmasher: Newt is hardly a true conservative. He may support conservative ideals with respect to the economy, but has no problem expanding the American empire and military industrial complex while being a draft dodger. He also wants to expand the power and scope of the Patriot Act. What a nut case. And while I acknowledge that there is an element of racism why someone will not vote for Obama, there is also a "reverse racism" where black persons will vote for Obama just because he is black.

Secret Voice: "The thing about Obama is that he changes with the wind as long as it helps his politics." This statement is true about Mitt Romeny too.

bklynkey718

Youre right Great1 Romney can do better than Rubio and I hardly think he could really help Romney. Considering his limited time as an elected official, he has already had problems with ethics missteps misused of party credit cards for personal expenses for more than $100,000. He double-billed state taxpayers and the party for several plane flights from South Florida to Tallahassee while serving as Florida House Speaker leading to having paid hefty fines for campaign violations. And this may be no fault of his own, but he has had foreclosure proceedings on a house he co-owned. Personally I think Condeliza Rice or Tim Pawlenty is the wiser choice.

bklynkey718

Stillpompous Your data is misleading Romney governed Massachusetts at a time of economic improvement. And he didn’t do that well when compared with other states. Massachusetts had a net job growth of 1.4 percent under Romney. However, that was far slower growth than the national average of 5.3 percent. But beside those facts policies of governors or presidents can certainly affect employment, but their record of employment will be strongly influenced by the prevailing economy at the time. And the notion that Romney can out debate Obama is laughable.

katdaddy4

I really dont care who wins this election. Obama has a good *** even with a bad economy. I think democrats will get their @$$e$ kicked in local and state races. People are sick of liberals and their tax and spend liberal @$$ economic policies ! Just like how Angela Merkel of Germany is telling all those socialist to get their finances in order or no bailout !!!!! Romney is a gawd'am RINO, I dont give a *** if he gets elected. Romney is Obama light. He is talkin all that conservative *** but he dont mean none of it. Call me prejudiced, I aint voting for his mormon *** !

prissy3

LOL @ katdaddy not liking Obomney/Rombama(lol). Any who, as per Germany's situation, as it stands, it is all about growth and austerity. In order for growth to apply, they have to spend money so it has little to do with socialist and more to do with a world wide anemic economy, which will also result in the outcome of November's election.

Hi Bklyn.

Greg.. I do agree with your comment, Arizona was indeed the winner and I am very afraid as to the outcome of the health care because those republican judges really chastised Obama. So sad that even the Supreme Court is more about voting party lines in high profile cases and not what is fair and just. These fools should all be elected to term limits as some have already argued and not appointed since it is now a mockery of the system. However, Obama is a winner in that Romney can’t even explain to the Latino population his plans, after all if he does, he will only continue to be the flip flopper that he is since he already indicated last election that he will build a fence, deport them and uphold the same law that Arizona passed to stop and show papers.

Fred… the least you could have done is post this story since this is a hot topic in the world of politics and for the group that utilize the section for that purpose, Is that too much to ask? lol.

pirssy3: Socialism does play a significant role in what is happening in Europe, and consequently, worldwide. Pre-EU, Germany had (and still does have) and strong economy. As a result, Euro banks and international banks would lend money at good interest rates to Germany because they were a strong economy. When the EU formed, banks would lend to countries with bad economies (with lots of big-government and socialist programs), like Greece, Spain, and Italy, at Germany's rates. There was a lot of malinvestment and our Fed bailouts money going overseas (and as a result, a large amount of inflation). This is a recipe for disaster.
