: CLEAAAARLY the song of the summer is Kanye West's MERCY (Feat 2 Chainz, Pusha T, and Big Sean)
But there are TWO other songs that we've been BANGIN IN THE MTO offices for the last few days . . . and they are:
CASHIN OUT by CA$H OUT
and
KIRKO BANKS (Feat 2 Chainz And Juelz Santana) - Drank In My Cup
I'm not really feeling KanYe's new...'swag'. He strayed far from his College Dropout days. I was listening to his debut album the other day and all I could do is smh.
I don't listen to rap that much though. A little Eminem and Mac Miller here and there but that's it. I admit, I do like that Cash song. What does he say? 'Rah Rah wit dat ***-----"?
MERCY MERCY MERCY...do yall kno that famous reggae quote he sampled...I love wen American rappers rap over reggae beats nd wen Jamacians chant ova American rap beats.........I got 2 honorable mentions; TILL I DIE- Chris Brown, Big Sean & Wiz and Disparate Youth- Santigold (Nikki who???) I jus gotta ask tho,(facetiously asking) If Blk ppl r doomed for comin on this site and posting, wouldn't that make tha "nay-sayers" DOOOOOMED (in my Professor Farnsworth voice) as well??? Jus sumthin ta consider for you post your derisve comments bout Blk ppl this nd Blk ppl that...
I really can't stand when black people act elitist about music. These songs are popular because a large chunk of the population likes them. Just because you don't like something that does not mean that it automatically sucks and you're a cool guy for going against the grain. Musical artists have lanes. Some *** spit deep ***, some *** rap about coonin/thuggin and some rap about partying there's nothing wrong with that. Why do people reject variety so strongly?
DON'T NONE OF THE MUSIC SOUND LIKE NOTHIN, MOST OF THE MUSIC NOW DAYS SOUND LIKE IT'S MADE IN THE GARAGE, NO MELODY. THE ONLY REASON PEOPLE LIKE IT BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHIN ELSE OUT THERE, AND YOU HEAR IT SO MUCH THEY MAKE IT GROW ON YOU.
SOUND LIKE A BUNCH OF JUNK TO ME WE ARE DEFINITELY LIVIN IN THE LAST DAYS OF THIS WORLD
@civic while I agree with what you are saying(all of these songs have a place on my playlist for their own reasons), I actually think there's a lack of variety now that irritates me. In the 90's you had mc hammer, vanilla ice, shock g and a variety of others who made party music, but you also has PAC, biggie, wutang and a variety of others who made music with meaning. Hve to say we are lacking that now.
all three of these tracks are garbage.....it only took me 15 seconds (and even THAT was a long time to listen) to determine how wack these tracks were and how horiffic the music industry is. no creativity, no originality, no ability to engage the listener, no longevity value, are you honestly gonna talk about ANY of these tracks in 10-15 years?!?! of course not, the hip hop industry needs to come better or leave the entire janera in the trash!
