- The highlight of the event was CISSY singing. That was SOOO moving

- Did anyone notice the IRONY of the show. All that talk about "positivity" but the VIDEO OF THE YEAR goes to a song called "N*GGAS IN PARIS." Oh . . . and they ended the show with TWO performances a song called "CASHIN OUT" (about DRUG DEALING and FLOSSING) and one called "RACK CITY" (a song about SKRIPPERS).
Was it good....I didn't watch it.... I had better things to do...

Whitney's tribute sucked (except her mother's part), especially being on the BET Awards!!! Brandy F'd that up and in my opinion took that opp to show HERSELF off, she looked stupid and didnt even actually sing. Monica was ok. Last year awards were way better!!! And so what if Beyonce danced all ***, she was having a great time, get off of her!!!

Everyone always talks about how Beyonce seem robotic, stiff, and coached and the minute the woman let's her hair down and be herself...people talking about she's being extra...*** if she do, *** if she don't! How is jay and bey jealous of kim and kanye i would love to know...kim looked so out of place and i felt sorry for her kanye didnt show no kind of affection to her but he hugged bey the first chance he got with that big *** smile i been saying for years kanye wants bey thats why his feeling get hurt when people say bad things about her and kim always talks about how much she loves bey i wouldn't be surprised if she wants her and kim thought bey was gone hug her after kanye hugged bey and jay gave her a pat on the back poor thing kanye didnt even want to be bothered with her oan kanye has the meanest mean mug i ever seen in my life and it was funny what jay did to kanye but he didnt mean any harm like kanye did with taylor
I think Brandy was cute in her performance, her outfit was nice and it was nice to see her kinda getting back out there, she's been through a lot. I agree with another poster, Bey is sort of a HAM out of her element, but it was nothing wrong with her groovin' in her seat. I loved the Maze & Frankie Beverly tribute. My parents always played his music and I do so now, and it was good to see him looking the same, but his voice has lost its edge. Nikki was cute for a change and not too weird looking. Overall, there wasn't too much coonin' which is usual for these shows, and that's a "good" thing, could have been better overall though.
Here are a few of my thoughts.....
Kanye killed the opening! It really didn't matter if Jay was late because Yeezy *** it down. Usher was good as usual. Kevin Hart have never tickled my fancy (as far as humored me). Samuel Jackson was acting like he is on Dave Chappele's level. He need to act more like the A-lister that he have become. Glad to see Chante Moore perform but I just don't feel the same about her since she and Kenny Lattimore split. D'Angelo was amazing! It's ok if the ripped abs are gone. His talent makes up for it very much so! He's back! Frankie Beverly is such a handsome man. I could see he tried to give his all but he had throat cancer. It's okay though. Those of us that know his music know that he had outstanding vocals and could hit any note. He is a true fighter and doesn't give up on what he loves to do. All of the tributes for him were good (Joe, Faith Evans, Tyrese). Speaking of Tyrese, the TGT men looked so *** fine! Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank I wanted to cuss the camera crew out! They acted like Beyonce and Solange were the only ones in the *** audience. We don't need to see every reaction from them. Melanie Fiona did her thing! I wasn't impressed with this performance from Breezy. The song is too Pop for me. Nicki Minaj was a total disgrace and that is always the case. She has low self-esteem so she has breast and *** implants, the blondest of the blonde weave, stupid lip stick color, I'll give her a pass on those big *** veneers because they may have been needed, this whole fake Barbie image, etc). She didn't clean up her music for an awards show with people from all age groups and all walks of life. The turning around and bending over was so distasteful and her acceptance speech was ignorant. Yolanda Adams definitely had her in mind when she said use your gift responsibly because the kids are watching you and want to be like you. I'm sure that hoodrat won't take heed though. The gospel performance by the Sunday Best girls and Yolanda Adams was really good. I'm very happy that Al *** received the Humanitarian Award. It is so long overdue. His speech was moving. The Whitney tribute was very touching, especially with Monica, Gary (Whitney's brother) and Cissy. Cissy looks good. Brandy's performance was fun. Some of those rap performances I wasn't thrilled to see. Spike Lee looked pure stank in that skort, skirt, kilt or whatever it is. I don't think this whole N*ggas in Paris controversy needed to be revisited. We know we have the whites watching that will make a big deal about it. Kim *** looked cute. Beyonce's hair looked quite dry. A lil' oil sheen could have brought it back to life. Glad to see she didn't win in every catergoy this time. Give someone else a *** chance to shine. Surprisingly, I didn't find Mike Epps funny with the Jodeci impersonation. The kid from Mindless Behavior should have left Lauryn's tax situation alone. He too young to know *** about her. I'm glad Jay-Z/Kanye won their award. I was shocked to see Letoya Luckett and Michelle Williams sitting next to each other. Didn't Michelle like replace her? Lol. I know Rihanna's grandmother just passed and my condolences goes to her. I'm glad she was not performing though. It's nice to see Free and AJ. I have not watched a full episode of 106 since they left. That is about all I can think about right now.
This is ridiculous...Beyonce is very down to earth and not stuck up...why should she have sat down the entire time at the awards instead of having a great time. Kim *** on the on the other hand look very out of place there and it was hilarious when during the Maze ft Fankie Beverly Tribute she was looking completely lost and probably didn't have a clue as to who they were. De'Angelo did an amzing job finally a man of R&B that can really sing and define it's music. Whitney's tribute was amazing...Brandy did very well, Monica doesn't receive the credit she deserves for being one of the greatest singers in entertainment (don't hate) and Cissy along with her son has so much strength because there's no way I could've done that.

Not a fan of Bey anymore but there is nothing wrong with her dancing and showing love to her fellow artist. I like many others fast forwarded all the foolishness. Deangelo and usher were great. Monica can sang but she looked a hot mess and of course Mrs Houston sang her heart out for her daughter it was touching. Loved seeing Free and And AJ i hope Bet wises up and bring them back or at least Free and Kanye is a clown i don't see how people can even continue to stomach him anymore. Jayz is finally aging i think it may be time for him to have a seat and let throne go and pass the torch. I noticed that when every one was clapping for AL ***, Jayz and kanye was still. Never believed in the whole illuminati thing but it did make me go UMmmm.....
Beyonce had the cameras showing her all *** so she had to do something... I think the Whitney Houston Tribute was too sad and got away from the tribute which should've been more of a celebration. We didn't really hear none of the Houston Hits like the Waiting to Exhale single, or the Preacher's Wife single or the Prince of Egypt single w/ Mariah Carrey... Basically something to celebrate her life instead of feeling like we are still mourning her death... It was ok but it could've been better...It was a little too much gospel...
Now I am not a huge Beyonce fan at all, BUT I cannot tell a lie, that girl looked beautiful. She was dancing, laughing, and just having a good time. Usually she annoys the hell outta me, but I have to admit that she and Jay were very cute. Kim's looked EXTREMELY uncomfortable, stoic, aloof, and just all around lost. Her facial expression didn't move (too much botox?), You can tell that she just uses the Black culture for her own agenda, because she did not look like she had a clue of what was going on, nor did she look like she's been around that many knee-grows at the same time. LOL. Nicki sucked. She doesn't even look human. Chris Brown sucked, he can't sing worth a *** and the techno-pop mess is horrid. Monica SANG her *** off. Brandy was cute, her outfit was a Whitney throwback. The tribute to Maze ft. Frankie Beverly was the best out of all of the performance. Joe and Tyrese were spectacular. D'Angelo was good too. Yesterday was the first time i've watched the BET awards in about 10 years, and I honestly, I think i'll wait another 10 years to watch it again :/
Everybody was waiting for Beyonce to perform. Did not like her dress at first but seeing that pic of her makes me like it now. The highlight of the awards were those two couples belief it or not. The camera must have picked them up for half of the show. Gotta love it. I like Monica's and Mariah's part of the tribute. What was up with Chaka Khan. I know she lost weight and is looking great but did she forget it was about Whitney and not her? Nicki, Usher, Chris Brown, Kanye all did great. Did not and I repeat NOT like Samuel Jackson as host. Note to Debra Lee, do not and I repeat do NOT bring him back.
The BET awards was the same as always to me, I loved the Whitney Houston tribute, everyone was amazing, and all of the performances were kool too,(probably because I'm a teenager). you can tell Bey was just having a good time, from solonge boyfriend down to nicki, (excluding the kardashian), everyone looked like they were having a great time. Bey and Jay looked cute competing for an award. And last but definitely least, Kim *** looked completely uncomfortable almost the entire time, the only time she really showed emotion was when Kanye and Jay won something, other times she just looked like she was lost and confused, but the pics of her and bey hugging in between breaks at the show were cute.

Chris Brown gave the same tired performance he always gives just with body paint added. I am an Usher fan but he needs to take it back to the My Way album and sit his azz on a stool in some all white and sing about Bedtime. I liked the Whitney tribute and loved Brandy! The highlight was Souja Boy boo hooing during the tribute! It made me like him more. Beyonce needs some oil sheen on that hair, it always look dry and in healthy. I loved Frankie Beverly's acceptance speech! I love their music because it was designed to make you feel good and music just doesn't do that anymore. Now why in the world was Bey and Jay nominated twice each in the same category? BET was really doing the most with that. Are y'all really that happy that they finally showed up? The gospel tribute was on point! What probably *** me off the most the whole *** was that little mindless behavior punk even speaking the name of Lauryn Hill let alone speaking it to say something negative. Do you know these little *** said during the after show that they know about old school groups like B2K! Are you *** *** me? I was also *** that the audience received Chante Moore so lukewarm after such a wonderful performance! Lastly I am trying to figure out why they didn't call Ledisi or someone comparable to sing Congratulations by Vesta?
That ghetto mess is an absolute disgrace to the Black musical pioneers. BET does nothing but perpetuate ghetto, hoodrat stereotypes and has elevated those stereotype to those with money. This is exactly why BET is not allowed in my home; and neither is Tyler Perry, who does nothing more than to encourage the negative stereotype of Black women.
when MTO overlooks Chris Brown's wack/same ol performance/horrible live singing/ lip syncing autotune and says Brandy was wack and was lip syncing... you really have to question who writes for this site. Brandy had the one of the best / memorable performances of the *** and she was actually singing. not many artist can do what she did with her low register and then bringing it up to high notes. she did a good job and her performing at the BET Awards was long overdue.
Wrong about Beyonce She danced because the world needs to see she is Human and she can appreciate any level artist's work You never get too big to support your own and all the performances could have been better but it seemed rushed and nowadays artist are there for the love of money and it shows in their music but Chris Brown proved beyond any doubt that he could bounce back from a Jigga slap He is a real one and that's why he deserved the biggest award Like Pac said Against All Odds ;)

I thought the show stunk with the odor of our famous black people. JZ disrespected Kanye West by getting him back for standing up for Beyonce. I Loved Beyonce's dress. This chick continues to be a class act, although I am not a fan. She learned her lessons well. And LMFAO to beyonce "perfoming" last year via satellite and this year she just cheesing her baby teeth all in the camera from the first row. Too good for BET so they give you awards for sh*t that's not even hot!
Ok 1 beyonce is a grown woman who enjoys music..she can dance in her seat if she wants. 2. Nicki Minaj was singing the radio version of her song..B.E.T did a bad job editing it as usual 3. There is no beef btw Jay-Z Or Kanye. 4.Kim did look lost 5. The Withney tribute was ok. Not great but good. Monica was and Mrs.Cissy were execlent.
Ok... I'm going to say my review on the BET Awards...It may be long, so you don't have to read it if you don't want too... Lol!
I didn't like the opening act. Big Sean, 2 Chain, Pusha T and Kanye? Really? Is this the BET Hip Hop Awards? They could've got a better opening act than that. An opening act that someone that we can remember and haven't seen in a while. Kind of like when The Fugees came out in 2005 and no one expected to see them... Smh. They really could've done something better than that.Â
I didn't like Usher performance.... I do like Climax, but why did he have to perform the WHOLE SONG though? Usher is supposedly recognize for being an ENTERTAINER a PERFORMER. Why couldn't he perform one of his uptempo songs? Why didn't he dance and give us an entertaining performance? He could of did a melody of Climax and than perform one of his uptempos. Smh.Â
I'm not a huge fan of Gospel, but I thought it was ok. Not good. Not bad. Just ok.
I think next was D'Angelo's performance...I didn't like his performance either. When he first came onto that stage and started singing âHow Does It Feel?â I thought he was going to deliver a good performance. But WHY did he *** that song up and STAYED on the other song TOO LONG?!?!?! Smh. How Does It Feel is what D'Angelo is KNOWN FOR. WHY DIDN'T HE PERFORM THAT WHOLE SONG? AND WHY DIDN'T HE PERFORM "LADY" and "BROWN SUGAR",etc. What the HELL was that last song he performed? NOBODY knows. And WHY did he kept going ON AND ON with that SHOOBOODOO type *** when he had OTHER CLASSIC SONGS that people were LOOKING FORWARD to HEARING? Everyone, and I mean EVVVERRRYYONE was looking forward to D'Angelo on Twitter and Exspecially on the Red Carpet, but he just disappointed ME and I'm sure everyone else. His performance was WAY TOO OVERLY HYPED UP. I really thought he was going to deliver. Smh.
I'm not sure but I think Melanie Fiona was after him. Her performance was ok . I'm not a fan of  Melanie, but which ever song she sang was good. I knew Melanie Fiona could sing good AKA her very first single but I didn't know she could sing LIKE THAT. She did good and reminded me that R&B music still has a chance.Â
Hmm... After her was Nicki I think. I was actually prepared for Nicki to give a bad performance, but I thought she did good. I really love the first song she performed, "Champion". Beez In The Trap was good too, but I was *** how they kept bleeping every curse word WAAAYYY TOO LONG. But her performance seem calm. She needs to perform more like that often.

I think after a while Chris Brown performed. I was disappointed with his performance. He performed TWO POP SONGS ON THE BET AWARDS. Why didn't he performed âSweet Loveâ or why didn't he performed âBirthday Cakeâ and brought out Rihanna as a surprise guest? Everybody would've been talking... I was just underwhelmed. His performance was too *** and he didn't bring it like I thought he was going too. And performing Pop songs on BET Awards isn't the place for that. I expected more. Smh.
Whitney Tribute was last I believe... Bringing out Mariah was ok. Monica performed a gospel song... I didn't like it. Well, I thought she sang it good but WHY didn't she sing one of Whitney songs like IWALY or I Have Nothing? I thought her voice wouldve been good for that. They could've left the gosepl songs to Cissy and Whitney's brother. Brandy did good, and so did Chaka but I felt like that tribute was TOO ***. WHY COULDN'T BeyonÄe AND Mariah be apart of the Tribute PERFORMING?? It would've made it COMPLETE and they focused MORE on Gospel than Whitney songs. I understand Gospel is Whitney's roots but.... I wanted to hear more WHITNEY SONGS being performed.Â
The host Samuel was WACK and BET knew it cause WHY did they have to bring out Kevin Hart again to do the skits and bring him out to talk? Smh. If BET wanted to get a GOOD AND FUNNY Host for the BET Awards, they could've choosed Martin, Chris Rock or Tyler Perry AKA Madea. They do NOT know how to put shows together and it is Debrea Lee's fault and Stephen Hills.Â
The BET Awards was not all that this year. It really could've been better. Smh. And if you actually think that this was the best âBET Awards Everâ than you must not have that much knowledge and you need to look back on the previous BET Awards. The audience kept me more entertained than the performances. ***, Beyonce entertained me more and she didn't even performed (even though I wish she did). Plus her and Jay's cute little competitive battle for Video Of The Year, lol! And not to mention when Jay pulled a Kanye on Kanye during his speech!! Lol!Â
But this awards was WAY TOO OVERLY Hyped Up. It seems like BET always do that *** and when you are excited to watch the awards and you finally do, it don't even be as good as you thought it would be. We didn't even have SURPRISES. You can include Mariah, but that was the ONLY surprise and BET is usually known to give more. Smh. The rating for this show was a 3 or less. I was disappointed.
I started watching the show late but I did get to see the Whitney Tribute. I'm so glad they sang other Whitney songs and not just I Will Always Love You. Whitney was major before the Bodyguard Soundtrack and she has many great songs. Loved the fact that her mother sang, it was very heartfelt. Why have Chaka Khan sing her own dam song? It didn't seem like it was for Whitney it was just Chaka singing one of her songs.
They kept showing the same people in the audience the whole ***. Bey is always dancing in the audience at the BET awards that's nothing new and nothing wrong with it. Did not care for her dress though. As many black men as Kim *** has banged she should be more comfortable in that environment. Her dress was boring. I did peep Ray J in the audience and started laughing. We can't forget that's how ole girl got her fame and fortune. I wonder if her and Kanye ran into him.
Well I'm kinda ol' skool on this cuz the only reason I watched the show was for the Whitey Houston tribute (Cicely Houston *** the house down, everybody was in tears) , Frankie Beverly and Maze tribute, d'Angelo. melaine fiona's performance was good and the rest of them *** peopIe i either didn't care or didn't know who they was. I didn't see nothing wrong with Beyonce dancing in the audience, she do it all the time and if she wanna stand up to a Melanie Fiona song, thas her perogative. Melanie was sanging it, I'll stand up too. Stop hatin Mto.
