The Dereon storm on Friday knocked the power out in the DMV! Its 104° out here alot of people still don't have power & won't until this Friday! Which means besides being 15°hotter inside your home ALL their food had to be thrown away :( Motel 6 is now charging $500 a ***. 10people have already died from heat exhaustion! So I hope that you are enjoying your nice cold AC why you laugh at others just trying to survive. Hopefully you will never have to improvise

I understand you got to do what you have to do to keep cool. It's either that or die from heat exhaustion but did they have to submerge this kid in the water with a diaper on? They couldn't just let him play in the water. Anyway gotta keep cool folks. I take the cold over the heat any day.

I also live in the DMV(PG County Maryland). Fortunate and blessed that my neighborhood has power. I got home 1am Saturday morning and the power was out. In less than an hour of me being home my power was back on. So I'm very fortunate!

Power lines and wires are in the street which result in mutliple street closures. The federal government is on an unscheduled leave policy. It's even mentions of postponing the fireworks show on the national mall for July 4th. *just talk* no definite word of the fireworks being postponed yet. Some folk are just getting their power turned back on this morning. Others still don't have power. The McDonald's and Wendy's drive thru window lines stay looooooong all day and ***. It's rough for some folk in the area, really rough. So, I dare not criticize anyone else's survival skills at this time.

I live in PG County also and power was out for 3 days....We traveled to Lexington Park to extended stay suites and got a nice room for 90.00 a ***.
