@HoeBoe: While I respect your points of view, I beg to differ with them. You said, "What I'm trying to understand... How in Hell do ppl think Obama can fix this mess in 4yrs... Obama can't fix this mess Bush and his admin created in 8yrs." Mr. Obama ran on the presumption that he could and would repair America’s socio-economic problems; that he claimed were the byproduct of Mr. Bush’s poor Presidential policies. Here is my question to you? Why would Mr. Obama tell Americans to vote for him, because he can fix the economy, if he knew he couldn't fix it in four? To do so, when he knew full well, he couldn’t, was being deceitful? Conversely, if Mr. Obama thought he could repair the economy, but found out afterwards that since Mr. Bush left it in such a terrible state that the four years he asked America to give him, wouldn’t be enough and therefore, would require more, is he then being a poor decision-maker? People can’t have it both ways! I watched every single debate, and I listened carefully, as Mr. Obama sold the idea to the American people that he had a plan for turning the country around; and he didn’t say he needed eight years to do it, he said he could do it in four. When prompted, he even highlighted the things he would do, from his first day in office. Recently, at several points, Mr. Obama said he would not run for re-election, in 2012. Many Americans [I included] were surprised when announced that he would. When Bush was in office, as a part of the stimulus package, I received six hundred dollars and change. With Obama in office, as part of the stimulus package, companies were given billions of dollars, and the public received not on penny; and the unemployment rate remained at an all-time low. The money given to the corporations was intended to bring Americans back to work. Do you know what the corporations did with the money they were given? Instead of creating jobs for Americans, many of them paid their executive staff bonuses; bonuses of which paid for vacations, lavish homes, yachts, and other extravagant lifestyles. Neither you nor I received anything. I am not saying this to change your mind about who you vote for; that is your American right. But to say, "How in Hell do ppl think Obama can fix this mess in 4yrs... Obama can't fix this mess Bush and his admin created in 8yrs," is unfair at best. Mr. Obama is not an idiot. He knew the state of the economy when he decided to run for office. He was adamant that he had a plan to get America, "back on its feet." Some have argued, as you have suggested, that Mr. Obama did meet the economy in a serious state of debt and disrepair to the tune of several million dollars. Others would claim that a debt of several million dollars [left by Bush], is much better than a debt of several trillion dollars [made during Mr. Obama’s executive leadership]. Another might interject that Mr. Bush inherited the economic disaster from President Clinton and his irrational spending. See how this argument can go on and on forever and ever? Regardless of the differences in our political perspectives, however, I totally respect you for your opinion. Have a nice Sunday!
