Give these statistics to republicans who believes poverty is explained by laziness and lack of self motivation. Endless statistics and studies shows you're more than likely going to die in the social class you're born in. And that goes both ways. Republicans solution, get rid of every social program that helps middle and lower class and give more tax cuts to the wealthy individuals who are more than likely to never go broke.
The new blacks are more interested in their Hip-Hop culture than Economics. For example, the adjoining thread entitled LOVE AND HIP HOP DRAMA: THE SCRAPPY AND STEVIE J FIGHT... has 127 posts (at the time of my writing this comment) versus this post regarding Economical Mobility, which only has 6 posts. They're just not interested. Advertisers know this and steadily push their products on them (the weak-minded)--i.e., hair, makeup, sugar and corn syrup-based drinks, greasy foods, war video games, music recordings with "Explicit Content," etc. Music and junk food is fine every once in a while, but not on a constant hour-to-hour basis. The last thing they want to hear about or talk about is Economics. The President can only do but so much. It's not that hard to become Economically Mobile; it just takes setting priorities and keeping focus. Good role models help, but generally get clowned (judged or talked about) by the black community.
All and all, the Hip-Hop culture bespeaks its own condition: LOVE AND HIP HOP DRAMA: THE SCRAPPY AND STEVIE J FIGHT...
Zoup There is no excuse to be poor in this country.. ----------------------------------------
With all due respect but that comment right there is so wrong, it's near idiotic. At the individual level, poverty is almost always caused by factors beyond an individual's control. At the structural level, poverty is always the result of social stratification.
