Whitney estate is worth that much. Were talking net worth not assets. Cash in the bank money is what theybare going by. So I believe it. Her estate might be more. That's music, property, etc. But those are assets. Not tangible money. I believe it for Keri because its more to write a some then to have a hit. Ppl keep saying "what, Keri Hilson has that much cake" she is a composer/producer, she writes songs for big name artist. Thats how she made her money before she even was known as a singer... She's been behind the scene and the pen behind your fav artists biggest songs for years... Missy Elliot said it best, u actully make more money behind the scenes then you do in front of the camera. She can write a song for 2 or 3 artist and make 100's of thousands of dollars off that. Although i'm not a huge fan of mariah, i agree she probably has the most money. She has major fans, top records & been in the game forever. As far as Keri, she's like a Ne-yo. Was a songwriter before she started singing for real. Rihanna is up there strictly from fan base & popularity. All the haters of her on this site don't compare to her fans in real life. OK so this list consist purely of R&B Artist dead or alive, because that can be the only reason why Micheal Jackson is not at the top because he is considered a pop artist but so is Beyonce. Wait, something is not right about this list. Also I know Quincy Jones has to have some serious bank too. If the list included rappers then it most certainly would have included artist like Dr. Dre., Jay-Z, P. Diddy, 50 Cent, Kanye, and Lil Wayne. I think this list only looked at certain R&B artist I know some of the R&B Artist from back in the day that are still touring got to have at least 20 million in the bank. First off, I don't believe R. Kelly makes that much. He can barely sell his albums. That right there is false. Unless he invested in and secretly owns his own empire somewhere, this can't be true. Rihanna should be taken off the list because she is not an r&b singer. She is a pop singer. Her music is far from real rhythm and blues. Just because she is a black chick don't mean she makes our kind of music. So you might as well bump up the other artists.
You can't say someone doesn't write their own music unless you have actually listened to their music or have done your research on them. People have to understand something. This is how much these artists are "worth". They don't take all of that home. Some of these artists do write and produce, so their going to pocket a nice bit of money, but not all of it. Once you have to come out of your pocket for accountants, producers, directors, studio time, make-up artists, stylists, lawyers, etc., they will probably take home half or maybe even less than half of what they reportedly make. (Not that it's a bad thing, because they still have more than I ever will. Lol.) But, I never did understand letting others know how much a person makes or how much their worth? What's the point? I don't go on my job letting others know how much I made on my check. It's almost like their flaunting these celebrities money in people's faces. Then they want to know why they always have people up in the faces grinning with their hands held out for some cash. They need to really keep that private.
