: Female rapper Azaelia Banks is opening up about her ABUSIVE upbringing in a new interview with DAZED AND CONFUSED Magazine. Here are some of the things she tells the interviewer:
'We grew up in the hood, but we had some money. But I moved out when I was 14 to go live with my older sister, because my mom just had, well... issues.'And about her early sexuality:
'After my dad died, my mom became really abusive – physically and verbally.
'Like she would hit me and my sisters with baseball bats, bang our heads up against walls, and she would always tell me I was ugly.'
'I remember once she threw out all the food in the fridge, just so we wouldn’t have anything to eat.
'It was like growing up a feral child, being raised by this person who was always yelling and screaming, hitting you and dragging you around and s***.'
'Growing up I was so curious about boys. I just loved them.
'I’d always get my recesses taken away for letting boys touch my butt in the lunch line I got in trouble for fooling around in school a lot.
'I just wanted to be touched, ya know? I just wanted to have sex.
'And my mom was always working so there was never anyone around to tell me no.'

Not trying to slight her or being funny, but I'm impressed she used the word "feral." unless it was somehow added to pad the story here. Okay, I'm blessed to have had a wonderful childhood and my husband and I are trying our best to provide one for our son, but I don't get it when people say okay, I was abused sexually, so I am going to continue down that SAME path of destructive behavior, knowing that it only destroys me, rather than TRULY seek help and work on getting to a point where if the issue remains, I can deal with it positively and have some resolve.

wow thats heartbreaking....i grew up in a 2 parent home, was loved, nurtured and didnt want for anything... to hear people talk about being raised otherwise is sad and unimaginable....
