Why can no one just respect the fact that a vast amount of black women straighten their hair because it's less stressful and easier to manage. Yes, white women who get surgical enhancement are in the minority, but surgery unlike a weave or hair dye is very expensive. I believe black women state that white women want to be like them as a counter attack to the presumption that black women want to be white or that white women are "better". In reality, people, especially women, want to do what they feel makes them look best or whatever is trending at the moment. I would say the woman that changes herself to be like another race is the minute minority. In any case, you can't defend one race for enhancing themselves in a way that would seem as if they're taking on another culture and condem another race.

There are many Igbo and Yoruba descendants. In fact, African Ancestry reported that 30% of U.S. Blacks had interracial admixture. That means that the majority us are mainly a mixture of AfRAkan tribes. That's GREAT news!! We've got to get over this 'them' vs 'us' mentality. We are AfRAkans. Let's use our thinking potentials to solve our problems and work together.

I can tell you that from a cultural perspective, Continental and Caribbean Black men and women do not publicly bash each other. If there are issues, it is handled behind closed doors. Continental and Caribbean Black men do not call their women '***' and 'ho's' and the women don't speak contemptuously of their men--in forums like this. When they see this behavior among Black Americans, they are disheartened and question our mental capacity. They have internal conflicts just like everyone else. We all don't see eye to eye at times. However, Continentals and Caribbeans are more cohesive as a group because they are bound by their respective cultures that give them a strong identity, deep sense of self and community, pride and confidence. It also helps that they have their own language or means of communication that is unique to them. Continentals and Caribbeans have a different perception of reality that may differ from AfRAkan Americans. It is seen in how they deal with challenges. They see things we don't see because we, believe it or not, take a lot of things for granted. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is where SexyChick12345 is coming from.

And you have individuals who are just emotionally and intellectually immature. I suspect that majority people on this site are living pretty well or at least have the basic necessities of food, *** and clothing met. Otherwise, they would not be online.
