Lol how can you correct someone by saying his mother is black and father is Mexican? Um Mexican is a nationality. anyone can be Mexican if they're from Mexico. What's wrong with saying "dark latinos"? Not all dark latinos are black or have black ancestry. You're probably one those idiots who think latino is a race smh.

all you people are wrong, I'm 100% latino raised in latin america and Caribbean my whole life there is no such thing as a white or black latino...it's just latino..Latino's we are not a pure race life African Americans..That's why latino's go by their nationalities and not race...only people in the stats have issues with race and think that everyone who is dark skinned is black or everyone who is light skinned is white...and the only place where if your half black than your black but in latin america it's not like that, if your mixed your mixxed period end of story..if your latino sayin that your black or white is wrong cuz if you try an trace your lineage it's very hard cuz you would not only have to trace your african side but also your indian or spanish side and the spanish were mixed also with jewish,muslim arabe, greek etc etc etc..I live in Puerto Rico and we don't mention race here for anything , race doesn't apply here...and latinos in the states *** either
it's ridiculous how latinos in the states in order to be accepted in America choose between black and white when where both or none..Latino's lineage is diferent than an african american's or white American's or asian american's cuz they are pure race..in Latin America it was never a seperation of races like it was in the states were whites and black had to use seperate bathrooms or stuff like that, in latin america no one cared especially when slavery was eliminated everyone basically had *** with eachother and were already mixing it was extremely common.. in my family everyone was tri-racial...my grand parents , my mom , my dad, my great grand parents, my great great grand parents, etc etc etc...and everyone in my familiy comes in diferent colors... two dark skinned latino's can still have a blond blue eyed child like what happened to my cousin ad my cousin also had a dark skinned baby with blue eyes and had another with very dark skin and red hair..... if two african americans of only african heritage had children that would not happen..and the terminology "afro-Latino" are latino's who want to embrace their africanicity but most of them are very mixed and won't admit it and most of them are latinos raised in the states that don;t know their culture/heritage at all and they go on t.v. talking about racism when they're the only ones who are always talking about race and mentioning race and talk about latin american when they've never even lived in latin america in their life they just go by what they read or what people tell them if and some latinos lie alot about their heritage and some even sell out their own country if they have for land of the free and home of the brave and whats shamefull is how many latinos when they go to the states and have children they don't teach their kids about their heritage or lie about it
Miguel is a very talented man. That said the African American Gene is strong! He barely looks Latin at all, his voice yes, yes, he has an accent very cool. ... I need to correct some thing up here. Not all Latin Americans see ethnicity the way you do in Puerto Rico or places that had a high incidence of African miscegenation.
In Mexico they tended to stay separate and shipped blacks to other parts of Latin Americas slave labor force as they were the Capital of the New World. The African admixture is very very low in Mexico. You will be hard put to find a Black person in Mexico most are American tourists. And Mexico is VERY VERY Racist. They breakdown not only ethnicity, but religion and skin types each one has a name From Rubio to Negro. The Spanish Inquisition was still in place until the 1800's. So yes they do make a differentiation in ethnicity. There are Centuries of Chinese who came in the 1600's, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Italian, Greek,Belgian,Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and the Austrian who took over Mexico that's why Mexico has music that sounds German. All call themselves Mexican.. however all other Mexicans would refer to other Mexicans by their ethnic groups particularly if it is obvious. A lot of these groups tend to have their own communities and speak Spanish and the language of ethnicity. Not all Latin Americans are the same culturally.
