There have been black women who have complimented non-black women shown on this site, but what is just as important to point out is that you rarely see any black men on these threads compliment non-black men who are shown on this site. You say that you care to connect bridges with sistas but indirectly degrade them-- whether they behave securely or not. You can't build that desired bridge if you are dishing out contradictory remarks---I need for you to try harder. Also, a lot of the negative comments stated about non-black women come from a man who desires to be a woman--now I need for you to think about that remark.
Although she may not have a face like Alisha Key's, Stacey Dash or Halle Berry, she is stacked like a brick turd house (that's an old school saying). And @ Kattdaddy, I understand exactly where you are coming from. However I am one of the sisters you speak about when you say having confidence in themselves enough to be able to compliment another woman and or sister. I got a paramount question for you both: The concern seems to be about black women complimenting non-black women, but when will someone be concerned about the media and people, in general, complimenting black women? Can the slave mentality stop for once? Why is there always a concerned for what black women do or not do and not vice-versa? Black women have been carrying the load for too long; when will someone else carry a load--give the black woman a breather.
@webbsted...I am a black woman and my comment is referring to what I myself see on a daily basis with the women/men in my immediate vicinity. However, I do have a BFF who is white (surface only I swear..lol) and she complains about the same thing among white females. That they are catty and negative towards other white females. I remember we were at the movies and while standing in line waiting to get popcorn, she blurted out, "If that cow looks at me like that one more time, I'm going to slap her". When I asked what she was talking about, sure indeed there was another white chick standing with her guy (we were by ourselves) eyeing her from head to toe witha look on her face that said STINK. I remember asking, "Wow, white chicks experience that too"? With that being said I think some women automatically look at other women as COMPETITION...ALWAYS SIZING THEM UP. However in my case, if I see a female with a cute hair style or cute shoes, I instantly say, Girl that's hot or don't hurt 'em boo cause you doing it. I have had a few who except the compliments graciously, but I do remember once I complimented a chick on her braids since she was eye-balling me ferociously. The heifer's response was, "*** PUUUUHlease", that simply told me she is one of the women we were discussing.
