: MediaTakeOut.com got a hold of pics taken of Mary and Kendu over the weekend. We've seen both Mary and Kendu look better...
She should in my opinion focus on her future as she has and involve her husband in her business affairs somewhat, if he isn't already (soomething small). He should really be tired of sitting on the side line listening to her talk about KC. MOVE on MARY, U have made ur point. I'm still a fan barely. Gotta admit I loved her music more when she was going through thangs, [u could hear it in her music] but glad she's much stronger now.
I"m with you shaloka I'm just happy she overcame her past and she is happy, and trust me people you better recognize your past because without it you will never make it to the future, you take two steps forward and end up ten steps back denying where you came from, and I'm quite sure its the magazine people who ask the questions, she have to answer them she dont' want to come off like a bytch...
But how many times must we hear about all the drama and all the pain... get over it!!! And if you are over it... move the fcuk on. I think her selling point is all the "drama" that she went through. That happends to fall under the category of REAL LIFE. She's basically capitalizing off everyday issues. But I'm so sick of hearing about it. Overrated in my opinion.
I love mary but I hate hearing about the drugs, abuse and insecurity..Ive been following her career for the past 15 years and its always the same *** thing in her interviews..now she claims to be so enlightened and happy with Kendu..well great for her..Im so glad..but please stop with these *** songs..we know you found God and love and you were worn and torn before but those songs are starting to sound repetitive..thats why I loved her song "family affair" because it had nothing to do with Mary getting beaten, cheated on or any of that..just a song to feel good..Wendy Williams even got sick of Mary..they started to play "Take me as I am" and Wendy stopped the song and was like "OK MARY, ENOUGH! JEEZ!" LOL..I was like THANK YOU Wendy! Enough!!! still LOVE MARY though
AND SHE TOOK SOMEBODY ELSES HUSBAND SHE SHOULD SING ABOUT THAT.*** IM TRIED OF HEARING THOSE"I USE TO BE *** UP BUT LOOK AT ME NOW" SONGS TOO!WHY DONT SHE SING ABOUT TAKIN KENDU FROM HIS FAMILY.AND HE NEEDS A HAIR CUT, MARY ALL THAT MONEY YOU GOT.HIS HAIRS SHOULD NOT BE STICKIN UP OR MAYBE SOME BIG *** CHICK JUST WALKED BY!??? CAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE HE AINT NO GOOD!
Wasn't he responsible for getting her off that "stuff"? The way them pictures look - I'm not sure if that is true, cause he looks like he is on that Ya-Yo. He looks horrible. They both do, all that *** money Mary got, she got that crazy *** bun on her head. That *** she calls a husband's head looks all Peezy, what's up? The both look like an ad campaign for Acne.
well in one of the thousands of interviews Mary gave about her being "saved"..she said Kendu gave her am ultimatum..he told her if she came home drunk one more time, he was going to leave her..so one *** she went out with her friends, her friends got crunk, and she came home sober..apparently he expected her to be crunk too so he was ready to leave, but when he saw that she came home sober he cried and was so happy she was willing to change..blah blah blah..so now we have to hear about this evolution in all her songs and interviews..see, people who arent tired of it, havent been following her career since 1991, so they think we're being mean by saying this..but Mary definitely needs to sing a different tune in 2007
Kendu is a producer for all the people who state he isn't a success
you people kill me, obviously what she is singing about is putting millions in her pocket, therefore her producers and managers are telling her to go this route because this IS WHAT SOCIETY WANTS TO HEAR, lol duh.... and hey she do it well... what else can she sing about anyway? if you all want her to change up her act, I'm quite sure she has fan mail send her an email and let her know what you all want to hear, but I'm quite sure her drama free albums is going to keep getting ciculated because that is what sells...
its obviously selling but come on, lets find something else positive to sing about..people love hearing about misery..and thats cool..I do too.. but Mary has been out for too many years to be singing about the same *** thing..talking about the same *** thing..interviews with her husband, photos with him..she just better hope they never split up because she seems like shes putting her life in this mans hands
Mary J. Blige is one of the most successful solo artists of all time, having sold over 65 million records worldwide since her debut in 1992. From her fruitful early collaborations with P. Diddy to her recent Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum album “The Breakthrough,” Blige has been one of the most consistently entertaining voices in R&B history. Constantly compared to soul greats like Aretha Franklin, Blige has a rich, distinct voice that will keep her at the top of the charts for decades to come.
Born in the Bronx on January 11, 1970, Blige was one of two children cared for by her mother after her father, a jazz musician, left the family when Mary was four. Forced to move to a dangerous housing project in Yonkers, New York, Blige was a troubled teen and dabbled in recreational drug use before dropping out of high school. She recently admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she was sexually assaulted as a child. However, Blige was nonetheless able to draw attention to her incredible voice during her formative years, singing in her church choir and winning a talent show at age seven.
Blige was ‘discovered’ by Jeff Redd, an Artists & Repertoire agent for Uptown Records who received a hastily recorded demo from Blige’s mother’s boyfriend. She was quickly signed to Uptown where she worked primarily as a background singer, becoming the label’s youngest and first female artist. It didn’t take long for Uptown execs to realize that Blige had enormous potential as a solo artist, and her first solo album was put under the supervision of rising Uptown exec Sean “Puffy” Combs. This first effort, “What’s the 411?,” put Blige on the map as a major hip-hop artist (she was dubbed ‘Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’), and it sold over 3 million copies in the U.S. alone.
Her follow-up, “My Life,” sold nearly as well and produced several hit singles. Darker and more personal than “What’s the 411?,” Blige battled alcoholism, drug addiction, and depression during the album’s promotion, and was in a well-publicized and borderline-abusive relationship with Jodeci frontman Cedric “***-Ci” Hailey. Blige followed with two more hugely successful albums in the 90s, the surprisingly uptempo “Share My World” and the more mature, soulful “Mary.” Her 2001 LP “No More Drama” produced her first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, “Family Affair.”
2003’s LP “Love & Life” became Blige’s first commercial and critical disappointment, despite selling over a million copies. The production reunited Blige with Diddy, but reportedly the *** duo squabbled over creative differences throughout, resulting in an unfocused, surprisingly bland compilation. Her latest album, however, 2005’s “The Breakthrough,” may be her best to date. Crammed with powerful ballads like lead single “Be Without You,” the album sees Blige stretching her vocal muscles and experimenting with fusions of funk, soul, hip-hop, and rock. A cover of U2’s seminal single “One,” recorded with the band itself, is of particular note. To date, “The Breakthrough” has sold over six million copies worldwide and is the nominations leader at the 2007 Grammys.
because...when you can keep your past so close to you...and remember all of your struggles, trials and tribulations, you also remember that you have so much to be grateful for TODAY! That's how you ignoramus azz [EXPLETIVE]!
Y'all don't get frustrated...
Nobody at MTO has enough money to *** with Mary or Kendu! lol!
@ beyoncelove2009
I agree the hard part for some people is when the they don't let go. I been there done that also but you know people from your past have a way of trying to creep back into your life with that remember this and remember that ***. Its crazy how thing happen. Mary was helpless at one time in her life but because of the blood of Jesue her faith she once lost has been restored! You go Mary!
LMAO @ MONIQUEP...
I ain't got nothing negative to say about this one...but on the funny side, wassup with Kendu in the 1st pic? He looks like he just woke up from being hit in the nose and mouth with a bottle of Chlorophyll, that stuff kidnappers and rapists use to knock women out before they get their freak on with them...
I have no problems with what Mary sings about. If she wants to still live in the past then thats on her. For some reason when she says I'm truly happy now, it just doesn't sound believable. If any of yall saw the ad for carols Daughters, you can plainly see in those pictures she is not comfortable in her own skin. Like the issues are her not liking herself is still there. As for Kendu!!! I always felt there was something about him that just wasn't right. And you can't pin point it but he seems conniving, sneaky, and controlling. Every where you see Mary he's right there. She's a grown woman she doesn't need him hovering over her like some big hawk. Plus the third picture looks so fake and forced. She doesn't even look like she wants to kiss him. Mary a truly hope that you really found happiness!!!!
DOES KEN-DOODOO HAVE UPPER TEETH? B/C EVERY PIC THAT I HAVE SEEN OF HIM IT LOOKS AS IF HE DOESNT....AND IM FROM YONKERS I LOVE ME SOME MARY,BUT I AGREE SHE NEEDS TO MOVE ON I ALSO AM SICK OF HEARING HOW SHE DIDNT LOVE HERSELF, SNORTED COKE,WAS IN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS.. ITS BECOMING BORING NOW.IM NOT SAYING SHE HAS TO FORGET HER PAST BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS.. THE PAST
Love you Mary, thank you for sharing your past and showing black women they can overcome any adversity in their lives...& showing women period that they do not have to continue to live in abusive relationships, for showing women that it can happen to the best of us, even a grammy winning artist like yourself! I wish you continued success, and I am so sorry KC hurt you I know for a fact that he loved you but he has/had his own issues to deal with and was not able to love you properly. Sometimes we can move forward with our lives on to better things but it does not mean that we have lost the love for the person that had us so down in the first place. Mary still wants KC to wake up and see the good thing he lost but alas Cedric is still dealing with his issues...she may want him to come forward and admit something to her as we as woman do before she can completely move on!
Mary will always be my No 1 Songstress..never miss a concert when she comes to Philly or NJ..I hope she's happy..Something just doesn't seem right about dude though, especially after reading the Essence article which Mary states Kendu was technically still married w/ 2 kids, and a seperate child from when he was a teenager..Seems like used goods to me..She deserves better.
Mary is a beautiful- strong black survivor! Her concerts are wonderful- she brings tears to my eyes everytime. I never experienced what she has but her passion reaches out to me. Kendu may be her blessing and makes her happy and for that I am glad. But she *** make him her world- I dont want to see his face - he cant even sing! Her voice sounds better thanks to a voice coach, he body is incredible thanks to her working out. Mary is at her peak. Mary- do the *** thing girl! I aint mad a cha. But watch that man with both eyes- something aint right.
