: Last week Crystal Mangum, the Durham woman who falsely accused three Duke University lacrosse players of rape in 2006, was charged with KILLING her boyfriend.
Police said Crystal, 32, stabbed Daye in the torso with a kitchen knife during a dispute on April 3. Daye was taken to Duke University Hospital, and Crystal was arrested in a nearby apartment. Reginald died two weeks later.
This wasn’t her first incident with her boyfriend either. Crystal was previously charged with assaulting him.
Yesterday was Reginald’s funeral service and his family asked us to re-print his obituary:
Reginald “Reggie” Eugene Daye, Son of Al Daye Sr. and the late Dorothy Wilson was born on November 3, 1964 in Durham, North Carolina
Reginald embraced his eternal rest on April 13, 2011 at Duke Medical Center .
He attended Durham Public Schools. He was a former employee at North Carolina Central University in the Paint Department and was employed with Scotts Painting and Decorating Company until his death.
Reggie’s favorite hobbie was painting and fishing. It didn’t matter if the fish were biting, he would sit all day because it was so peaceful to him. He loved to listen to music. He was a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan. He was humble, fun loving and was loved by all who knew him.
Along with his mother he is preceded in death by his brother, Eric Wilson and sister, Kimberly Rowland-Ingram.
