SHOCKING! White youths much happier than Black & Latino Youths...

: I'm tempted to say "a DUH!"

This is really sad and profound though. This study asked a group of kids about different aspects of their lives and it found that across the board white youths are far more satisfied with themselves and their lives and the world around them. Is it any shock, when you have a society that nurtures them and glorifies the every move of even the worst among them i.e. Paris Hilton, Britney, Lindsay Lohan?

What needs to be addressed is the institutionalized racism in this country. It's real and its a roadblock for many unless you are super tenacious and have your game plan on. Click the link and read up on it!

This is a good topic email2michael. And I just love how they titled the story, "White Youths Are Much Happier Than....OTHERS"! LOL

I'm a firm believer of the piramid of self-actualization. So in some ways, I understand what the article is trying to say.

That's because theri parents can get and keep jobs. Most people show no prejudice to white people in THIS COUNTRY.That's why they can focus on other things such as family and other upbeat ties in their life.

i really already posted and it logged me out and disapeard. anyway, i was curious about what demographic was polled...that makes a diffrence, if you poll a bunch of rich whte kids and then poor black kids from the hood...plus i just noted that these kids were polled by MTV are you seriously taking this poll serious?

its prolly true, on a grander scale, but like that kid they asked, in my area its not that big a deal...

It's not all about money either. I grew up half of my childhood life being middle class then poor, and I was still a happy kid. My parents spent a lot of time with me picking my brain & that closeness led me to be a happy well adjusted child.
