October 14, 2010: We wouldn't ordinarily associate rap stars with their negotiation abilities but US rapper T.I. is a different matter because yesterday afternoon he managed to talk a suicidal man down from a building ledge.

No, the police haven't started calling in celebrities for such cases... it all happened because the man was threatening to jump from a building in which a radio show is based.

Ryan Cameron's Radio Show on V103 is housed in the 22-storey Atlanta building and T.I. just happened to hear about the suicide threat on the show.

Keen to know if there was anything he could do to help, T.I. called the show and swiftly came to the rescue, meeting with police and recording a video message which was played to the man on the ledge.

A source revealed to celeb site TMZ what the rapper said: "Nothing is that bad. Nothing in life is worth taking your life. I'm here to help you. Please come down to talk to me."

And it worked... the man agreed to step away from the edge of the building and ended up in the lobby talking things out with T.I.
