Verse, you kinda spoke this into existence yesterday in your other thread..I wouldn't scream on the other folk for their wrongdoings, But I advise you to get an attorney because if they try and terminate you based on the guys being black and you are black too, then that is discrimation based on race and color and probably your gender..keep your head up young man and don't let whitey make an example out of you for being who you are..
okay, i would say you should be able to make a case for yourself. here's what you need to do:
1. do not blame it on the fact that you are black. they will view it as an easy excuse for you to blow off thousands of dollars in hotel furnishings and leave the impression you are not all interested in the companies bottom line. worst it will annoy them and they will find away to fire you.
2. get it all down in writing. if those guys didn't come in at once it's reasonable to assume there was no way for you to know a party was about to insue.
3. you have already made your case by putting it down on paper and handing over the details. it's time to brown nose. let them know what a valuable asset the company has been to you and what it means for you to work there. own up to your part in this. NEVER ADMIT GUILT. rather say something along the lines of- i'm sorry the company was negatively effected by the actions of a few.
makes sense? DO NOT:
1. illustrate any levels of immaturity by "taking everyone down with you". if i was the manager i would easily brush it off by telling you, "i'm not here to talk about mary, john and sue. at some point i will get there recollection but right now i am here to talk about you.
2. do not bring race into the issue
both will only underscore you are not ready for a position that requires any level of responsibility let alone entrusting thousands of dollars in company assests.

trust me on this okay, i entered management at 18 and before matured i would fire folks at the drop of a dime. it wasn't difficult for me to build paperwork and figure out a way to get rid of them. if they want to get rid of you they will do just that.
REMEMBER
va is an "at will" state. they can fire you for absolutely no reason what so ever. the best card for you to play is to show you now realize how important that *** is because it sheilds the company in the event they need to take action on said party.
@ Vers
From this day out always cover your azz. Dude from this day on make everyone sign that form. I do know if a person having a b-day party or some kind of party they would tell the reservationist upfront.
Now I am going to tell you those dudes must had been a bunch of fools to have a party at the embassy suite in VA. From Crystal city down to Dulles. Va cops are like roaches.
If you was going to lose your job when management was talking to you about it you would had got fired the same day. Trust me I know about the embassy suite situations.
At those hotels they have camera all around the hotel plus security. So where was security at when it was loud noise coming from that room. Another thing if they keep pressuring about it ask to see the video of the front desk to evaluate the situation. It sound like one of those dudes that got caught try to place the blame on you.
Its not about the race card with the embassy suites there is something else going deeper then you know about it especially if its a certain one.
The no party policy is some *** actually if the embassy suite you work at is running that no party policy its illegal. How are they going to turn down wedding parties or reception parties if they had the no party policy. Non of the other embassy suites have this policy.
When you go back to work just act normal.
I don't know much about hospitality but if what why said is true that is is BS....yup business as usual and don't sign a *** thing they try to give you acknowledging this incident because you don't have to sign it..That is just to create a paper trail with your signature acknowledging you did something wrong.

if you decide to go with that advice make sure you understand the art of reading the tea leaves. in most cases folks aren't fired until a replacement is found. if you all of a sudden start seeing now hiring signs around i'd make sure my resume is floating around on the job boards.
i feel a proactive approach is better but that's just my management style, it doesn't mean it's right
@ Placidity
One thing about the embassy suite they dont need to wait for a replacement because they can always transfer someone from another hotel which is actually not that far away from where he work at.
@ Vers
I have a buddy that is a regional manager for embassy suites/hilton hotels so pretty know how it work.
Now its depending on are you management or a staff member.
When you have time call the customer service number to see if your hotel that work at is listed with the no party policy.
Hey Verse...that's messed up... My only advice...stand your ground...fight it out in a professional manner...and don't sign your name on any type of disciplinary reports or papers that they can hold against you in the future...if they fire you just gather your things...and seek legal advice...
Keep ya head up...check ya later...
