Spreading rumors is the most dangerous thing someone could do. Yes rumors don't seem all that bad but you can ruin someones relationship and friendship if you decide to spread a nasty rumor. And if a person has a million enemies how would they know it was you?

I don't think it was right for her to use the law as a last resort to win the battle. It's like tattle tailing to the teacher. But there you go, if there were kids involved and you were married, then the girl would file for divorce as a way to win.
