In Davidson County, Tenn., authorities have agreed to pay $95,000 to a former prisoner whose gold jewelry grill was yanked out of his mouth. When Anthony McCoy was booked for allegedly failing to pay child support, he was told to remove the gold grill from his mouth. He refused, saying it was cemented to this teeth. Which is when the lieutenant reportedly pulled on a rubber glove, reached into his mouth and forcibly removed it.
He needed about $10,000 in dental work as a result. Of course, it took 10 days before the jail gave him medical treatment. They did, however, give him some Tylenol.
